Video Audition Requirements

Video Audition Requirements
Total length: 5 to 10 minutes
Please label the video with your name, address and phone number. Videos will not be returned.
Intermediate, Advanced and Professional Level
At the Barre – Tendu, fondu, adagio, grand battements: alternate right and left with each combination in one direction
only.
In the Center and Across the Floor – Use the following steps in combinations: turns en dedans and en dehors,
échappé, changement, glissade, assemblé, sissonne, jeté and grand pas de chat.
Pointe work – Use the following steps in a combination: rélevès, échappé, passé, arabesque, pirouettes, fouettés
turns. Please eliminate any steps you haven’t learned from the above list.
Male Dancers
In additional to the above list, please include: tour en l’air and à la seconde turns
Junior Level
Please eliminate any steps you haven’t learned from the above list. Pointe work not required.

Check
A check for $25 should accompany all video submissions, made payable to Southland Ballet Academy.
Photographs
Students must send three photos: headshot, first arabesque, second position échappé. Photos should be on pointe
for students studying pointe.
