Rapport annuel 2010 - Partie 3
20<?DB The Lille Campus: another dimension 20<?DB4B # '$WP _PaR _PaZ bP[[TbSTR^dab R[Pbba^^\b ! It also houses several research chairs and centres, including the world-renowned EDHEC-Risk Institute. EDHEC Business School’s Paris site is essentially an Executive Campus designed for interaction with the business world. Located in the heart of Paris, it accommodates services most closely-related to business (the Corporate Relations and Careers Department, the Alumni Association) as well as research centres. The Paris site also welcomes EDHEC Master in Management students who have opted for the European Apprenticeship Track. It additionally serves as a venue for research seminars, and customised and open-enrolment training programmes. London EDHEC’s London site dates back to 1998 and furnishes services to businesses and graduates. Since 2003, over 5,000 City professionals have attended research seminars and conferences organised by the School in London. EDHEC is preparing to open a new Executive Campus here in January 2011. The new campus will offer two new teaching programmes the Executive MSc in Risk and Investment Management, and the PhD in Finance - as well as new research programmes. Singapore Following an international tender procedure, EDHEC was invited by the Singaporean Monetary Authorities to participate in a cluster of excellence aimed at developing Singapore into one of the world’s major financial centres. This new Singapore campus, due to open in October 2010, will be the base for: t5IF&%)&$3JTL*OTUJUVUF"TJBBOFYUFOTJPOPGUIF/JDFCBTFE EDHEC-Research Institute, which will be developing new research programmes. t&YFDVUJWF&EVDBUJPOQSPHSBNNFTUIF1I%JO'JOBODFUSBJOJOH seminars for the region’s financial industry and the part-time Executive MSc in Risk and Investment Management. D=42><<D=0DCq34C0;4=CB 02><<D=8CH>5C0;4=CB EDHEC’s values of audacity, open-mindedness, innovation and solidarity guide every generation of our alumni. The EDHEC Alumni Association, for graduates from the EDHEC Master in Management, the MSc and the MBA programmes, aims to create close ties between different generations, whether regionally, nationally or internationally, and to ensure that the network offers top-quality support to both personal and professional projects, while contributing to the overall development and visibility of the School. This last point is of capital importance: the promotion of EDHEC is also up to us and we are proud of the exceptional development achieved by the School over the last ten years! The entire Alumni community and each individual member, in their own way, share and encourage this same commitment to our School. A personal and professional network EDHEC recognises that student life is not confined to tuition and that ties between students do not cease with graduation. We therefore seek to foster non-academic but complementary activities, notably by supporting some 50 active student societies and associations as well as the ESPEME and EDHEC Alumni networks. The ESPEME and EDHEC Alumni associations act as networks of solidarity for 21,000 graduates, current and former students all highly attached to their school. The two associations aim to maintain permanent links between the different generations and communities of graduates regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as encouraging fruitful personal and professional exchanges, promoting and developing the image of each programme and participating in the teaching process. EDHEC has been a pioneer in encouraging this type of activity and, as a result, our two main campuses now accommodate over 50 student associations and societies. Students can sign up to five categories of association or society according to their interests: tSport and leisure: tennis, sailing (including the famous EDHEC Yachting Cup which welcomes in 2010 crews from UCLA, Warwick, Cambridge, Esade and QUT) skiing, wine tasting, tArts and culture: organising musical, artistic, film and theatrical events, artistic and cultural publications, promoting Asian culture, t&conomic and practical life: student jobs, junior business club, the Ch’ti (Lille) and Pitchoun (Nice) city guides, student magazine, competitions, business start-up advice, investment club, tCampus life: Student Union, Student Sports Club, welcome committee for candidates prior to oral entrance exams, assistance for foreign students, audio-visual and photographic coverage of student activities, campus radio, tSolidarity and humanitarianism: accompaniment for young hospital patients, promoting sustainable development, organising humanitarian convoys, holding reading and writing workshops in prisons, organising charity events, educational support for disadvantaged children. An unmissable event in student life, the EDHEC Cup regatta is organised by EDHEC students and takes place every spring. The event is backed by a €1.6m budget and involves several thousand students of diverse backgrounds. Most of them come from French Grandes Ecoles (business and engineering fields), though there are also crews from prestigious international universities. The 2010 edition of the EDHEC Cup featured crews from UCLA, Warwick, Cambridge, Esade and QUT. Competitors in the EDHEC Cup are certain to experience an intensely emotional week of sport and to participate in a week of festivities and fun social events that have built the EDHEC Cup’s reputation since 1969.
