All Quebec catholics men have Joseph in their given names and all Quebec catholics women have Marie in their given names. In the possible time range I found 3 Bois-Caron marriages: 1)Joseph Etienne BOIS (Joseph & Madeleine MORIN) m. 23 Feb 1806 Lévis Marie Scholastique CARON (Jean Baptiste & Dostie) 2)Joseph Francois BOIS (Jacques & Angelique MIGNIER) d. March 1820 age 77y St-Jean-Port-Joli (born abt 1743) m2. 5 Nov 1781 St-Jean-Port-Joli Marie Angelique CARON (Ignace & Marguerite ROUSSEAU) 3)Joseph Francois BOIS (Roch Sylvain & Josette PINEL) b. after 1770 m. 26 Sep 1797 St-Jean-Port-Joli Marie Catherine CARON (Jean Baptiste & M.- Catherine CHAPAIS) b. 28 Apr 1779 St-Jean-Port-Joli Pierre BOIS father is not likely Joseph Etienne as the later was living in Levis, not in the same region. Joseph Francois BOIS (son of Jacques) can not be Pierre Bois father because Pierre was born abt 1820 the same year this Joseph Francois died at age 77y So unless more infirming information is found It is plausible to think that Pierre BOIS parents were Joseph Francois BOIS & Marie Catherine CARON. However please do note that it is an HYPOTHESIS. With generic given names Joseph & Marie ……hypothesis is an acceptable solution until further information is found. A more advanced research would be needed to verify. Roch Sylvain BOIS (Jacques & Angelique MIGNIER dit LAGACE) b. 16 Aug 1748 Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatiere m. 19 Nov 1770 La Pocatiere Josette PINEL (Joseph & Genevieve MIGNAULT dit LABRIE) Source : BMS2000 2205 Chemin Grand-Pré, Grand-Pré N.-É. B0P 1M0 http://www.rootsweb.com/~nsgrdpre/ [email protected] Les Amis de Grand-Pré page 4 There is no evidence so far that Caroline BOIS is a native descendant. However, SAVOIE, ARSENAU, BERNARD, LANDRY, POIRIER and DUGAS are Acadian surnames. Very interesting lineages to search. The FURLOTTE line Isaac FURLOTTE 22y s/o (Samuel FURLOTTE & Ellen FOURNIER) Born in Jacquet River abt 1890 m. 15 Oct 1912 Marie Louise VIENNEAU (Hilaire Laurence & Marguerite JONCAS) Marie Louise was born 1 and baptized 4 July 1895 Jacquet River An added marginal note to the baptism record states her marriage to Isaac Furlotte Hilarion Vienneau 20y born abt 1871 in Beresford m. 24 Nov 1891 Rivière Jacquet Marguerite Joncas 19y born abt 1872 in Durham Sources: Mariages du comté de Restigouche; Naissances du comté de Restigouche (Drouin microfilms coll) 1901 census Durham, Restigouche NB Furlotte Samuel 14 Oct 1848 (Apr 1848 in 1911 census) Ellen 13 Dec 1852 (Sep 1862 in 1911 census) Francis 16 Jul 1881 Rosa 28 Dec 1883 Joseph 15 Oct 1885 Ellen 2 Apr 1887 Isaac 11 Oct 1889 (Aug 1889 in 1911 census) 1881 census, Durham, Restigouche NB Samuel Firlotte 28 (1853) Ellen 27 (1854) Elizabeth 7 (1874) Mary 5 (1876) Nicholas 3 (1878) Francis (1881) 2205 Chemin Grand-Pré, Grand-Pré N.-É.
