Teacher's Workshops in
France - SPCD Grants
SPCD (stages pédagogiques de courte durée) are
training grants aimed at helping teachers perfect their
skills in methodologies for teaching French language
and culture. They are intended for teachers of French
who work in American elementary or secondary
schools. A special training is also offered for teachers
working in French immersion programs. The training
sessions last two weeks and take place in France at
a training center selected by the Cultural Services of
the French Embassy.
Application deadline: March 1st, 2013.

Training Program
The American Association of Teachers of French
(AATF) will offer a wonderful training opportunity for
potential leaders. These sessions will take place
during the annual AATF convention in Providence
RI, July 11-14. Members who can assume a position
in a local chapter, but who are not yet officers, are

with Nantua High School
(France)
The Lycée Xavier Bichat located in the Jura region,
40 miles from Geneva, is looking to set up an
exchange program with an American school. The 20
students range from 15 to 18-year-olds. The small
town of Nantua is situated by a lake and the
highschool organizes many outdoor activities in
relation to the mountains, such as cross-country
skiing and mountain biking.
