This tapestry of cultures finds expression in the form of imagery, symbolism, and forms that are deeply rooted in my cultural formation, and they become my visual language. In my art, I address cultural identity, displacement, and the definition of identity in the context of exile. The political therefore becomes inseparable from the daily activity, and one completes the other. I refer to the circumstances around me and to broader geopolitical and social questions, affirming culture, identity, and the artistic position. Yo me refiero a las circunstancias que me rodean y a los amplios cuestionamientos geopolíticos y sociales, afirmando cultura, identidad y la posición artística. biography | biographie | biografía Farouk Kaspaules is an Iraqi-born visual artist who organizes and curates exhibits on political and cultural themes for various artist-run centres.
