PROMACO ET MEDENTECH ONT SIGNE UN PROTOCOLE
D’ACCORD POUR LA DISTRIBUTION D’AQUATABS
AU BURKINA FASO
PROMACO AND MEDENTECH SIGN A MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING FOR AQUATABS DISTRIBUTION
IN BURKINA FASO
Sous l’égide du Programme USAID WA-WASH, le Mardi 6
décembre 2016, le Programme de Marketing Social et de
Communication pour la Santé (PROMACO) et la société
MEDENTECH ont signé un protocole d’accord pour la
distribution d’Aquatabs au Burkina Faso. La cérémonie de
signature a été parrainée par M. Alassoun Sori, Secrétaire
Général du Ministère de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement.
Under the aegis of the USAID WA-WASH Program, on
Tuesday, December 6, 2016, the Social Marketing and
Communication Program for Health (PROMACO, in French)
and MEDENTECH signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) for the distribution of Aquatabs in Burkina Faso. The
signing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Alassoun Sori,
Secretary General of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation.
Au cours de sa Phase I, grâce à un appui financier de l’USAID,
le Programme USAID WA-WASH a, à travers PROMACO, fait la
promotion d’Aquatabs pour le traitement de l’eau de boisson.
Cette activité a permis de vendre plus de 3.293.400 comprimés
d’Aquatabs et le traitement de plus de 65.868.000 litres d’eau
entre août 2013 et août 2015 au Burkina Faso.
During Phase I, with financial support from USAID, the USAID
WA-WASH Program, through PROMACO, promoted Aquatabs
for household drinking water treatment. This activity allowed
the sale of more than 3,293,400 Aquatabs tablets and the
treatment of more than 65,868,000 liters of water between
August 2013 and August 2015 in Burkina Faso.
Selon Dr. Lakhdar Boukerrou, Directeur Régional de USAID WA
-WASH, le Programme a entrepris la mise en relation entre
PROMACO et MEDENTECH afin d’assurer la disponibilité
permanente des comprimés Aquatabs au Burkina Faso. M.
Shawn Wozniak de l’USAID-Burkina Faso a salué ce nouveau
partenariat entre PROMACO et MEDENTECH. Il a aussi rappelé
qu’il incombe désormais à PROMACO d’œuvrer pour une plus
grande utilisation d’Aquatabs afin d’assurer la durabilité des
investissements de l’USAID et du plaidoyer de USAID WAWASH pour traiter l’eau au point d’utilisation. Parrainant la
cérémonie, M. Allassoun Sori a rassuré PROMACO et
MEDENTECH que le Ministère de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement
accompagnera ce partenariat.
According to Dr. Lakhdar Boukerrou, Regional Director of
USAID WA-WASH, the Program worked to set up this relation
between PROMACO and MEDENTECH to ensure permanent
availability of Aquatabs tablets in Burkina Faso. Mr. Shawn
Wozniak from USAID-Burkina Faso welcomed this new
partnership between PROMACO and MEDENTECH. . He also
recalled that it is now up to PROMACO to work for greater
use of Aquatabs to ensure the sustainability of USAID's
investments and USAID WA-WASH's advocacy for treating
water at the point of use. As the ceremony’s chair, Mr.
Allassoun Sori reassured PROMACO and MEDENTECH that
the Ministry of Water and Sanitation will accompany this
partnership.
A l’issue de la signature du protocole d’accord, M. Simplice

Ventes de
Medentech se sont engagés à respecter les clauses du
partenariat pour un accès durable des populations à l’eau
potable, grâce à Aquatabs.
Following the MoU signing, Mr. Simplice Toé, Executive
Director of PROMACO and Mr. Kevin O’Callaghan, Marketing
and Sales Manager of MEDENTECH, committed themselves to
respect the clauses of the partnership for sustainable access
of populations to safe drinking water, thanks to Aquatabs.

Kévin O’Callanghan s’est aussi entretenu avec des acteurs du
secteur de l’eau au Burkina Faso et il a effectué une visite de
terrain dans la commune de Tanghin-Dassouri pour rencontrer
des vendeurs et des utilisateurs d’Aquatabs.
In addition to signing the partnership with PROMACO, Mr.
Kevin O’Callaghan also met with the water sector
stakeholders in Burkina Faso and conducted a field visit to
Tanghin-Dassouri to meet with Aquatabs sellers and users.
