Option Internationale OIB en Troisième
Chers parents,
Le LFS propose l’option internationale aux élèves qui rentrent en classe de Troisième.
Objectifs de l’option internationale :
1. Favoriser le développement de la langue des élèves d'origine anglophone, et
permettre aux élèves non-anglophones de pratiquer l'anglais de manière
approfondie et de viser un niveau de langue maternelle
2. Favoriser l'appréciation approfondie des patrimoines culturels et littéraires des
pays anglophones
3. Offrir l'expérience d'une approche pédagogique typique de la Grande-Bretagne,
en complément du programme français
4. Préparer les élèves de sections internationales britanniques de collège pour les
exigences des classes OIB au lycée.
En Troisième, les élèves de section internationale reçoivent 7 heures de littérature et
langue anglaise. Les 4 heures d’histoire–gé ographie sont enseigné es a la fois en anglais
et en français.
Ils préparent et présentent en fin d’année le Brevet option internationale (2 épreuves
orales, l’une de littérature anglaise et l’autre d’histoire-géographie) en plus des épreuves
au programme. De plus ils commencent à préparer l’IGCSE Language and Literature et
l’IGCSE History qu’ils passeront en fin de seconde.
Les élèves actuellement en classe de quatrième Section Internationale ou à parité
horaire sont automatiquement admis en section internationale. Pour les autres élèves
un test de langue (oral et écrit) sera organisé courant mai.
Les é le ves qui poursuivent jusqu’au Baccalauré at OIB é tudient ensuite souvent dans les
université s britanniques les plus sé lectives et obtiennent d’excellents ré sultats.
International Option (OIB) for students entering Troisième
Dear Parents,
The LFS offers an international option for students entering the class of Troisième.
Objectives of the International Option (OIB)
1. To promote the English language development of native speaking students and to
allow non-native English speaking students to study English in depth, aiming for
fluency
2. To promote in-depth appreciation of the literary and cultural heritage of English
speaking countries
3. To offer a British educational approach in addition to the French curriculum
4. To prepare collège students in the international section for the demands of OIB
classes in lycée.
In Troisième, international section students receive seven hours of English language and
literature instruction. The four hours of History-Geography are taught in both English
and in French.
At the end of Troisième, international section students will sit the International Option
Brevet (two oral exams, one in British literature and the other in History-Geography) in
addition to the other curriculum exams. They will also begin preparing for the IGCSE
Language and Literaure and IGCSE History exams that they will sit at the end of
Seconde.
Students currently in Quatrième bilingual class are automaticaly admitted into the
international section. Other students wishing to enter the international section may take
an oral and written entrance evaluation organised in May.
Students who have taken the OIB routinely study English, History and Geography very
successfully at the most selective UK universities.
