porter cette information h ]a connaissance de votre Excellence en lui
remettant copie do 1'Acte par lequel Is Gouvernement Frangais a
accepte', taut en son nom gn'au nom des Puissances signataires de la
Declaration do 1856, l'adhdsion du Gouvernement Mexicain.

M. le Secrdtaire d'Etat,
THE Mexican Minister at Paris has just informed the Government
of the Republic of the accession of his Government to the Declaration
of Paris of the 16th April, 1856, respecting maritime law.
I am charged by the Minister for Foreign Affairs to bring this
information to your Excellency's acquaintance, and to transmit to you
a copy of the Act by which the French Government has accepted the
accession of the Mexican Government on its own behalf and on that
of the Powers Signatories of the Declaration of 1856.

Gouvernement des hats-Unis Mexicains, apprdciant la haute justice
des principes proclamds clans la Declaration drossde lc 16 avril, 1856,
par le Congrds de Paris, donne son adhdsion entiere et definitive aux
quatre clauses contenues clans cette Declaration et s'engage a s'y
conformer entierement.

Act of Acceptance of Accession.
TnE Government of the United States of Mexico having acceded
to the Declaration to regulate certain points of maritime law, signed
at the Congress of Paris on the 16th April, 1856, by means of the
Act of Accession delivered by M. S.B. de Mier, Envoy Extraordinary
and Minister Plenipotentiary of Mexico at Paris, which Act of
Accession runs as follows:The Undersigned, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the United States of Mexico to the President of the
French Republic, has the honour to inform AT. S. Pichon, Senator,
Minister for Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, that the Government of the United States of Mexico, appreciating the high justice of
the principles proclaimed in the Declaration drawn up on the 16th
April, 1856, by the Congress of Paris, gives its entire and definitive
adherence to the four clauses contained in that Declaration, and
engages to act in exact conformity therewith.

We, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, duly
authorized to that effect, formally accept the said accession on behalf
of the Republic as well as on behalf of the High Powers signatories
of the Declaration of the 16th April, 1856.
In witness whereof we have signed the present Act of Acceptance
of Accession and have affixed thereto our seal.
Done at Paris, the lath February, 1909.

1 IIAVE the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the
9th instant , in which you inform me of the accession of the United
States of Mexico to the Declaration respecting maritime law, signed
at Paris on the 16th April, 1856, and inclose a copy of the Act by
which the Government of the French Republic has accepted such
accession.
