The United Arab Emirates is the most active in terms of product innovations aimed at satisfying the needs of consumers seeking a wider range of dietary influences. Health-oriented foods are on the rise. The HEALTH axis accounts for 22.2% of innovations in the Middle East and North Africa , buoyed by the MEDICAL trend, whose innovations offer products that are gluten-free, lactose-free, vitamin-enriched, or “clean label” products. While imports still hold a significant share of the market, local businesses are innovating on an increasing scale.
