dans son appartement dimanche
passé (le 5 juin), et a été retrouvé
par Donald Leblanc et Diane StPierre qui se sont beaucoup occupés
de lui dernièrement et depuis sa
maladie de reins.

Merci et félicitations
Les Chevaliers de Colomb ont su nous gâter et
nous servir en grand, samedi passé après la messe
de 17h. Le souper a commencé avec des crudités et
des fromages et une bonne soupe au homard et du
bon pain moelleux. Ensuite, le homard, venant de la
Nouvelle Écosse, et les steaks tendres et cuits au
goût de chacun servis avec les salades et les petites
patates. Plus de 130 personnes ont participé à cette
activité. Les Chevaliers ont travaillé avant: planifier
le menu, faire les achats, organiser la salle ; durant :
servir, remplir les pichets d’eau, nettoyer, vendre les
billets 50/50; après: nettoyer, rapporter les BBQ
empruntés. Ces messieurs se sont dévoués avec
joie et empressement pour que tout soit parfait.
Nous sommes reconnaissants chers Chevaliers...
vous méritez du repos pour la fête des Père le 19
juin. Si vous n’avez jamais participé à cette fête,
nous vous encourageons à ne pas rater l’occasion
l’année prochaine!

Qu’au 17e siècle, il y avait une surabondance de
homard ? C’était en fait une denrée peu estimée et
peu digne d’intérêt, sauf pour les Indiens qui s’en
servaient comme engrais, comme appât ou au pire
comme repas s’ils n’arrivaient pas à attraper de
poisson. Que faire alors de ces «cafards de la mer»
dont personne ne voulait? Les donner à manger aux
prisonniers, aux servants, aux veuves et aux enfants.

Un homme va au cinéma. Il achète son billet a la
caisse et entre. Une minute après il revient et en
achète un autre. Une minute plus tard, il revient et
achète encore un autre. La caissière lui dit: Je ne
comprend pas, je vous ai déjà vendu 3 billets et vous
en voulez encore?
L'homme répond: Je sais mais quand j'entre dans la
salle, il y a un mec qui le déchire !!

EXPERIENCING MERCY SESSION - THE CHURCH LISTENS: DEI VERBUM AND RESPONDING TO
DIVINE REVELATION - Join Dr. Stephane Saulnier, Professor of Scripture at Newman Theological College as
he explores the Church’s understanding of how Divine Revelation guides the ordinary Magisterium, especially
as spoken to us through God’s Word. This fifth session in the Experiencing Mercy series will be held at Sacred

THE PONTIFICAL COUNCIL FOR PROMOTING CHRISTIAN UNITY: MASS AND PRESENTATION
Join members of The Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity Dialogue with the Christian Church Disciples of Christ from the Papacy and around the world. The Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral will be with Bishop
David Ricken (RC Bishop of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Catholic representative on the Dialogue) and is

RIDE FOR REFUGE 2016
Ride for Refuge is back for its fourth year in Calgary. Once again, the Diocese is pleased to host this fundraising
event for charities serving the vulnerable, displaced and exploited. Funds raised by the Diocese will benefit our
Elizabeth House Program which serves parenting and pregnant young women at risk and without traditional
supports. Join us October 1 to walk 5km or ride 5, 10 or 25 km routes out in Springbank. Entry fee is $50
fundraised for each person over 10. The first 100 people in Canada to raise $500 will get a limited edition Ride

WORLD MIGRANT & REFUGEE DAY MASS WITH BISHOP HENRY
On June 20th, we will be celebrating the many contributions of forcibly displaced people throughout the world
with a Mass at 7 pm St. Mary’s Cathedral, presided by Bishop Frederick Henry. With this Jubilee Year of
Mercy celebration, we will not only recognize refugees, past and current, but the many people dedicated to

ONE ROCK FESTIVAL OF FAITH
Walk for One Rock: On July 10-11, 2016, join other parishioners from the Diocese for the 2nd Walk for One
Rock, raising awareness for the One Rock Festival of Faith happening this summer. The walk will begin with the
9 am Sunday Mass at St. Rita’s Parish in Rockyford on July 10, setting off the 80-kilometre journey to Calgary
(with an overnight stopover at Strathmore). The remainder of the walk will resume on Monday, July 11. You can
help by walking for 2, 5, or 10 kilometres, sponsoring someone to walk the whole route, or sponsor per km or

RVs Needed: The One Rock festival is in need of three motorhomes/RV during the festival weekend (August
12-14, 2016), and are looking for generous individuals who are willing to lend or rent their RVs to the festival. If

HOLY LAND & JORDAN PILGRIMAGE (NOVEMBER 12-24) - INFORMATION MEETING
Join Father John Schuster, V.G. & Father Avinash Colaco on an experience of a lifetime to the Holy Land &
Jordan from November 12 to 24, 2016! An information meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 29,
2016 at Ascension Catholic Parish located on 1100 Berkshire Blvd N.W., Calgary from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Pilgrims will have the opportunity to ask questions about the pilgrimage, meet other pilgrims going and also
