Location The hotel was built in 1912 in St. Isaac’s Square, a 10-minute walk
from the Hermitage. Highlight Wake up in a bed with a tasselled velvet
headboard and look out at the monument to Czar Nicholas I and across the
square to the imposing 19th-century cathedral. Cuisine The superb Italian
food at the adjacent Borsalino Restaurant is prepared by Sardinian chef
Stefano Balduccio. Thing to do Enjoy morning coffee or breakfast in the
Davidov restaurant while a live classical pianist plays in the adjoining lobby.

Location The hotel is just a five-minute walk from the picturesque
harbour and historic centre of this famous fishing village, which is at
the mouth of the River Fal. Highlight The comfortable drawing room
just off the lobby is the epitome of a family home, with a big log fireplace, comfy chairs and lots of reading material. Thing to do Take a
boat ride on the hotel’s eight-passenger Pinuccia yacht (circa 1938) to
St. Anthony’s Head on the other side of the river; its lighthouse provided
inspiration for Tresanton’s logo. Insider tip Tresanton and its friendly
music specialist Noam Greenberg organize musical weekends twice a
year, with concerts held in the St. Mawes Methodist Chapel a few
