1. Date: first-edition inference (date code fe).
2. The footline plate number “1070” is probably an engraver’s error for 1870. Brown (p. 93) gives plate
number “1870” without comment, while Hoboken (Hob-274) and Chominski & Turlo (p. 117) both
give “1070” without comment. Number 1070 is in the range of plate numbers assigned in years 1830–31
(Table 5A), and number 1870 falls in the year 1835, the date of Schlesinger’s publication of Op. 24.
