manna for national and local economy, tourism redefines itself given a demanding
competitiveness in search of a new public and renewed expectations.
The tourism consumption patterns applied for decades are now collapsing, because demand is
surpassing supply and local governments' budgets are decreasing.
Nowadays, territories have to think differently, by creating a network for public and private
entities to combine their synergies and, beyond existing tourist facilities, increase promotion
through a strong territorial brand policy in order to dominate the market.
Deauville and Cannes do not escape these new situations. Separately, for a long time, they
founded their identity, invested to create high quality tourism, worked on a very select
positioning, acquired fame and a strong brand image, to finally claim a top position in
international rankings of the most attractive French destinations.
They today meet to share tourism innovations and create a pro-active umbrella brand :
