The chef of the just opened-restaurant Chez Faïna: a Mediterranean story and the
commitment to serve sophisticated French cuisine in Larnaca
Toni Doummar is a French-Syrian chef, who has exercised culinary arts for more than 25
years in France and all over the world.
He started his career in Marseille, Southern France, with his first restaurant “Les Canotiers”,
during the eighties on the old harbour, at the heart of Mediterranean cultural exchanges.
His passion for French cuisine encouraged him open in the nineties the gastronomic restaurant
“Le Caruso”. He then decided to go back to his country of origin, to make Syrian people
discover French recipes : in 2006 he opened several restaurants in Damascus : “La Cigale”,
“Le Bistro”, “Les Canotiers”.
Toni Doummar wants to make Cypriots discover a sophisticated and refined French cuisine
from the kitchen of the restaurant Chez Faïna. Referring to his participation in Good France
operation, he stated that it is a great honour for a French chef to participate in this world-wide
operation, and, by so doing, transmit to the Cypriots the spirit of a friendly gastronomic
journey.
