Ici Carol Stone, née en Californie de parents
italiens. J'ai passé ma cinquième année
en France et ma dixième année en Italie, où je suis
allée à l'école primaire et où j'ai appris à parler
français et italien.
J'ai reçu mon baccalauréat de UC Berkeley après
avoir passé un an à l'Université de
Bordeaux pour perfectionner mon français et goûter
la culture française. Après un an à Stanford, j'ai
reçu ma maitrise et j'ai
commencé ma carrière de professeur en enseignant
le français dans plusieurs lycées publics et privés, y
compris Sierra Collège, où j'ai fait des cours de
conversation pour adultes le soir.
My name is Carol Stone.
Born in California of Italian parents, when I was
five years old I lived in France and when I was ten
I lived in Italy, where I went to elementary school
and where I learned to speak French and Italian.
I earned a Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley
after having spent a year at the University of
Bordeaux to perfect my French and experience
French culture. After a year at Stanford I received
my Master's degree and
began my career as a high school teacher, teaching
French in both public and private schools, as well
as at Sierra College, where I taught adult
conversation classes in the evenings.
Je viens de prendre ma retraite après 20 ans
d'enseignement secondaire à El Molino
High School. Avec mes élèves j'ai fait à peu près
une douzaine de voyages d'été à travers la France et
j’ai donc vu pas mal de ce
merveilleux pays! Cette année j'ai enseigné un
nouveau cours "French Langage, Culture, and
Cuisine" avec deux collègues à Santa Rosa Junior
Collège offert par le "Community Education."
I recently retired after 20 years of teaching at El
Molino High School. With my students I have
taken about a dozen summer trips all across France,
so I've seen quite a bit of this wonderful country!
This year I taught a new course "French Language,
Culture, and Cuisine" with two colleagues at Santa
Rosa Junior College through Community
Education.
J'adore enseigner, faire la cuisine, jardiner, faire des
randonnées, lire et garder mes trois adorables petits
enfants! J’ai hâte de commencer à travailler pour
l'Alliance Française de Santa Rosa!
I love to teach, cook, garden, hikes, read, and take
care of my three adorable grandchildren! I'm
looking forward to beginning my association with
the Alliance Française of Santa Rosa!
