Chidinma Thompson is a partner in our Commercial Litigation Group in our Calgary
office. Chidinma is focusing her practice on commercial litigation, regulatory law and
arbitration, with an emphasis on energy, natural resources, environmental, and
municipal law. She acts for and advises clients in these areas, and has experience in
regulatory hearings before the Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board, Alberta
Utilities Commission, Calgary Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, as well as
proceedings at the Alberta Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of
Appeal.

Prior to joining BLG in 2009, Chidinma practised with an international oil & gas law firm
in Lagos, Nigeria. She has also been a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary
Faculty of Law, co-teaching “Fundamental Legal Skills,” and at the university’s
Haskayne School of Business, teaching “Environmental Law in the Energy Sector” in a
Master’s Program on Sustainable Energy Development. As well, she has been a legal
research associate with various Canadian Institutions and law firms.
