GPS-Workshop für Wanderer und Radfahrer 28. November 2015
In the last couple of years handheld GPS devices have found their way into hiking, mountain biking and geocaching. However, dealing with the outdoor equipment requires careful planning, especially as one does not seek the quickest route from A to B, but the most attractive. In addition to being safely guided, the device can also record the routes walked and load the data later on your computer where it can be reviewed. But how does such a GPS device really work? How does one load the data on a computer? What kind of GPS device and software will suit you best? th A workshop is held at the youth hostel in Luxembourg-City on Saturday, 28 November, 2015 that will give you the answers to these questions and will show you the proper handling of your GPS unit and how you best prepare your next outing. The basics and the day-to-day use of a GPS device are explained in detail. If you don’t own one yourself, we will put a GPS device at your disposal. In addition to planning routes on the computer and an introduction to the traditional maps, we provide you with an overview of the GPS devices and software available on the market. The workshop takes only place with a minimum of 6 participants. If this number is not reached, you will be informed in good time. Please note, that you need knowledge of computer to participate at this workshop.
