«Les plongeurs bleus» (1960)
Edouard Pignon
Edouard Pignon was born in 1905 in Bully-les-mines (Pas de calais).
His enfance was hard, he worked to the mine and in a factory from 1920 to 1927.
He lived in Paris in 1927 and began his studies in « Arts appliqués » and Open university
Edouard Pignon died in 1993 in La couture Boussey (France)
He gave his pictures to his friend, Picasso.
In the painting we can see a man diving and a cat at the top. We can see a waterfall and a diver hung
in the waterfall . There are few colors : red, blue, black and write. There are a cold color. The
picture is abstraite.
I don't like it because I don't see the «Plongeurs Bleus» but I like the water mouvement and the
repartition of colors.
I have already seen a work by E. Pignon in the north of France. It was « Les seigneurs de la
guerre » (1968)
