In foreshadowing of being associated artist to Le Cratère, David Wampach has been invited to present a performance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the National Theatre.
In reference to his previous creation CASSETTE, which was premiered in Alès last January, he chose to stage a trio
steeped in ballroom dancing and this time with five musicians from the gypsy band Rumba is Compas.

Amusing oneself, enjoying oneself, marvelling at the performance.
Starting with a ballet, extract from it the core of its personality : the fantastic fairy tale, the folk dances, the
musical score, both romantic and exotic, the couple
figure or pas de deux.
“Nutcracker”, the great literary and choreographic classic, is reinterpreted here in the ballroom dancing style,
thereby questioning the codes of these dances, through
over the top or underplayed performance.
