PETITION FOR SHINGLES VACCINE FOR ALL SENIORS
PÉTITION POUR LE VACCIN DU ZONA POUR TOUTES
LES PERSONNES ÂGÉES
To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario: - À l’Assemblée législative de l’ Ontario :
WHEREAS the Government of Ontario announced that starting September 15, 2016, the Shingles vaccine would be available to all seniors 65 yrs to 70 yrs free of
charge. (until December 31, 2016 any senior born in 1945 is also eligible), CONSIDÉRANT QUE le gouvernement de l’Ontario a annoncé qu’à compter du 15
septembre 2016, le vaccin contre le zona sera disponible gratuitement aux personnes âgées de 65 à 70 ans (la population née en 1945 pourra se faire vacciner
jusqu’au 31 décembre 2016);
WHEREAS seniors over the age of 70 yrs will still be required to pay for the vaccine if they choose, CONSIDÉRANT QUE les personnes âgées de plus de 70 ans seront
toujours tenus de payer pour le vaccin si ils ou elles le veulent ;
WHEREAS the Government of Ontario claims that studies show that the vaccine is highly effective when seniors are vaccinated between the ages of 65 and 70 and
will not cover the vaccine for all Ontario seniors; CONSIDÉRANT QUE le gouvernement de l’Ontario dit que les études démontrent que le vaccine est très efficace
pour les personnes âgées de 65 et 70 ans ;
WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: This is unfair to seniors over the age of 70 and we urge the Government to expand
the coverage so that ALL Ontario seniors are eligible for the FREE Shingles vaccine. NOUS, SIGNATAIRES DE CETTE PÉTITION, demandons à l’Assemblée législative
de l’Ontario de changer cette politique discriminatoire et demandons au gouvernement que toutes les personnes âgées de l’Ontario soient admissibles
