TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Teams will be transported to and from the airport and to all practices, games and
Tournament activities.
Car Rental Information will be available at the Delta South Calgary for anyone
interested in renting a car during their stay in Calgary.
Budget Rent a Car is the official Rental Car Agency of the Tournament and
Budget has given Tournament participants a special rate.

INFORMATION REQUIRED
We require the following information be completed and EMAILED to the Tournament
Committee in Calgary immediately after your Divisional Championship.
1. Intermediate Little League Divisional Championship Information: This information is necessary to
complete the Tournament program, communicate essential information to the Divisional Champion and to arrange
to meet the team.
2.
Medical Information: Send us any specific medical requirements with respect to your players.
3. Copy of Official Little League Affidavit: This will allow the Tournament Director to start the required
verification process early. The results will be less organizational work when you arrive in Calgary and time when
you will be trying to prepare your team for “playing ball”.
4. Media Contacts & Coordinator in Your Town/City: Your local media will be interested in your progress
throughout the tournament. There is certainly no problem in your media calling us direct, however, it is best to
designate an individual in your area to receive and distribute the information. Please provide a list of all media
contacts for your area and we will try to send them updates by email or fax.
5. Hotel Info for Parents: The tournament has blocked a limited number of rooms for parents/family of each
Divisional Winner.

Coach of each team

Parent & Fan Information
Immediately after you have won your Divisional Championships, a number
of parents, fans, families, spouses and perhaps Little League Executives,
will be revising their plans to accompany the team on this trip to the
Intermediate Little League Canadian Championships and potentially to the
Junior Little League World Series in Livermore, California.
Facts that will help clarify their position:
Little League has not reserved any transportation bookings other than for
players, the Manager and Coach. All others are responsible to make their
own way to the tournament.
It is unlikely, but not impossible, that some fans will be able to book seats on
the same flight as the players.
Parents and fans will be responsible for their own transportation from the
airport to their accommodation. In the event they arrive with the team, the
reception committee will make all reasonable efforts to help them get to their

GENERAL INFORMATION
Gear: Players are advised to carry their own equipment in a carry-on type bag on the airplanes.
This prevents stress when bags go missing along with their uniform.
Second Copy: The manager should photocopy a duplicate set of all required documents and
place in care of the coach in the event of a loss.
Repair: Plan on checking equipment in advance to ensure it fully complies with Little League
regulations and safety standards; you can expect the Umpires to check every piece of equipment
including player’s gloves and shoes.
Jewellery: Jewellery is not to be worn on the Diamond. Please address this with your players
before the game starts. No one wants to be singled out for this.
Birth Certificates: Please have your copies of all Birth Certificates. They will be required as
verification at this event.
Baseballs: Little League approved Baseballs provided.
First Aid Kit: Personnel with first aid training will be on site during games to provide Medical
attention if required. Teams will, however, be practicing at “practice diamonds”. It is advisable
to have a suitable first aid kit with your team equipment in the event of an injury during
practice.
Pins: There is a tradition of exchanging pins between teams that play each other during the
“round robin”. Normally these are League pins or District pins (also, but not necessary) a
City/Town or Provincial pin. This is tradition, and not an absolute requirement.
Conduct & Fun: When winning your Divisional Championship suggests that, your team
already identified that discipline and a high standard of conduct is essential.
Teams attending a Canadian Championship Tournament need to be very conscious that they
represent their League, District, City/Town, Province or Provinces and potentially their Country
if they continue on to the World Series.
Most teams discuss this with players and parents before leaving for the tournament. Because
Little League emphasizes the need for a high standard of conduct, we obviously would hope
that all teams have discussed this with their player and parent group. We would like to
emphasize the experience as fun, educational and as a very rewarding baseball experience.
Bilingualism: The tournament is in predominantly English speaking Calgary, Alberta.
Notwithstanding this, the tournament will honour our bilingual country by providing bilingual
translator when required.
