AUDITION NOTICE
COPRODUCTION PROJECT CFPL / OPERA HOUSES
The French Center of Lyrical Promotion (CFPL) is pleased to anounce an open audition for the
opera « Il Viaggio a Reims » by Rossini in italian. They are 18 roles to be filled.
In 2008/2009 the performances will take place in the « Grand Théâtre de Reims », « Opéra de
Vichy », « Opéra-Théâtre d’Avignon », « Opéra de Massy », « Opéra National de
Montpellier », « Maison de la Culture de Clermont-Ferrand », « Opéra-Théâtre de Metz »,
« Grand Théâtre de Tours » and « Duo Dijon ».
Following these, they will be performances in the « Opéra de Toulon Provence Méditerranée »,
« Opéra de Nice », « Opéra-Théâtre de Saint Etienne », « Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse »,
« Opéra National de Bordeaux » and « Opéra National de Lorraine » in 2009/2010.
Performances will take place in Hungary in 2010.
Rehearsal will be held in the French Theatre of Reims (Grand Théâtre de Reims) in September
2008.
Audition schedule:
IMPORTANT ! The first selection based on recordings has been eliminated : from now,
applicants can send their documents (application form, biography, photograph, copy of
passport) until April 7th to participate directly at the audition in Paris.
First selection
April 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th 2007
Paris, Opéra National de Paris
From 10:00 am to 18:00 pm
Second selection : final choice
May 9th, 10th, 11th, 2007 (+ maybe the 12th)

Participation requirements :
All applicants for soprano, mezzo, and tenor roles must be no older than 32 as of January 1rst,
2007. All applicants for baritones and basses must be no older than 36 as of January 1rst, 2007.
Candidates not available for the dates of the first selection and final choice should not apply.

Selection 1 : an aria from « Il Viaggio a Reims » in italian and a aria of one’s
chosing
Final choice : same program as selection 1
The aria presented from « Il Viaggio a Reims » must correspond to the part the candidate is
applying for. A list of the selections to be sung for each part is now available on the CFPL
website.
Musical Editions : Ricordi (Critical edition edited by Janet Johnson)
Documents to be submitted :
• The application form (to download on the CFPL website : www.cfpl.org or to ask to
the CFPL)
• A curriculum vitae of 1 page lenght
• A recent photograph
• A photocopy of passport / ID card
