EVS project: FLUX ZONE UNITY

Flux is a state of constant flow, change, movement and passage. Young people
are in a constant state of learning, growing and acceptance, whit this project we
want to create a creative space (with no real boundaries) where the flow of
acceptance and unity is available to everyone no matter the race, sex or religious
beliefs.
With this future EVS project we want to work on social inclusion in our regional
community trough the usage of creative tools, like theater, art, video, gverilla
actions and new media art. We believe in creating a »zone« that is a safe ground
for all disabled, migrants, unemployed and socially excluded. The »zone« will be
created trough creative tools, cooperation with different organizations ( creative
centers, theaters, schools, homes for disabled, azil centers) and the
implementation of EVS volunteers ideas.
Three MAIN oranizations are involved in this project:
-Youth center Trbovlje MCT (coordinating organization) an organization that
supports youth initiative and developments of project ideas.

-Youth theater »Svoboda« ( hosting organization) - theater group that main
focus is creating plays for the local comunity.

Other than the above mentioned organizations, the volunteer will have a chance
to work also in : Pimary school for disabled, Day center for disabled, Center for
people with emotional issues, local highschool and azil center in Ljubljana.
Each of the three volunteers will be working three days a week in separate,
above mentioned organizations with individual time sceduals. Two days a week
all three volunteers will be working in the youth center creating the project Flux
zone unity (FZU). One of the volunteers who will be working mostly in the youth
center will be the leader of the project. The common basis of all three
organization is creativity in different fields, which the volunteers can apply in
their project together. In the youth center volunteers will recognize the
importance of unity, tolerance and understanding towards acceptance by
discussions, brainstorming, reaserch and study visits to outher organizations that
work with socialy excluded. Based on their understanding and observation they
will create a common space in a form of a installation that will combine all their
creative work from other organizations in to one project, a zone of understanding
and acceptation. The end result would be a event where the interactive
installation/ performance would we presented to the public.
Other then their major project the group of three volunteers will work under a
group name and prepare monthly events in the youth center for the local
youngsters. These events can be connected to their hosting organizations as
well, events such as workshops, cultural evenings, exhibitions, movie nights,
poetry evenings, plays, street work or any other form of interaction for the local
youngsters, which would also promote EVS in the local community.
This is a project of creativity, development and implementation of ideas, carrying
out project such as this help build organizational, teambuilding and time
management skills.
If you believe there should be a place where all people feel equal and what to
build a project on this through cretivity. Than this is a project for you!
WHAT KIND OF A VOLUNTEER ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for volunteers that are motivated for such a project and love to
work in the field of theater and arts. This is a very creative project and also great
for building project management skills. The volunteer should have a high amount
of motivation for carrying out long term project planning and teamwork. This
project INCLUDES people with fewer opertunities, in all fields and will support
special needs.
TASKS OF THE VOLUNTEER:




Working 3 days a week in the Cultural center, theater »Svoboda or the
youth center. Carrying out the tasks that are beforehand negotiated with
the organizations, task such as : helping set up exhibitions, helping make
costumes, collaborating on theater plays.
Helping prepare weekend events in the youth center – workshops,
cultural activities national evenings.
Working on creating the project »Flux zone unity« a creative space for
interaction trough theater, video and art. Visiting centers with that work
with socialy excluded.
Attending reflections and evaluations with the coordinator.
IMPORTANT: The volunteers can choose where they prefer to
work in which organization. In the motivation letter please
specify which organization ( MCT, DDT, Svob.) you want to
work in and why.
