ANONYMITY AND THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION EL ANONIMATO Y LA CONVENCIÓN INTERNACIONAL L’ANONYMAT ET LE CONGRÈS INTERNATIONAL While our members have differing views of how to adhere to the principle of anonymity laid out in A.A.’s Eleventh and Twelfth Traditions, here are some suggestions for practicing these principles at A.A.'s 75th Anniversary Celebration in San Antonio: Los A.A. pueden tener opiniones diferentes acerca de cómo aferrarse al principio de anonimato, según se describen en las Tradiciones 11 y 12 de A.A.; no obstante, a continuación aparecen algunas sugerencias específicas que les ayudarán a poner en práctica estos principios en la celebración del 75° aniversario de A.A. en San Antonio: Même si nos membres ont des opinions différentes quant à la façon de respecter le principe de l’anonymat tel qu’énoncé dans les Onzième et Douzième Traditions des AA, voici quelques suggestions pour mettre en pratique ces principes lors des célébrations du 75e anniversaire des AA à San Antonio : PHOTOGRAPHS – Out of respect for others, please do not take photographs during any of the meetings at the International Convention. Please remember that the taking of photos during A.A. meetings makes many members uncomfortable about the confidentiality of the gathering. Also, please be considerate when taking photographs around Convention venues. Take care that you do not capture images of A.A. members, family members and friends who did not give permission and may not wish to appear in your pictures. The INTERNET – The long form of A.A.'s Eleventh Tradition says "Our names and pictures as A.A. members ought not be broadcast, filmed or publicly printed." In keeping with this principle, please do not post recognizable photos of identifiable A.A. members on Web sites accessible to the public, including unrestricted pages on social networking sites. REMEMBER.... Whatever the medium, no disclosure of a member's affiliation with A.A. can rightfully be made by anyone but the individual him or herself. "It should be the privilege of each A.A. to cloak himself with as much personal anonymity as he desires. His fellow A.A.’s should respect his wishes and help guard whatever status he wants to assume." (“Anonymity” by Bill W., A.A. State Department : http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/temp_1305.html. Grapeevine, janvier 1946). * * * * * * *v * * * * * * * * * AA ADVANCE PROGRAM GUIDE KEY THURSDAY, JULY 1, 2010 7:00 PM until… Party In the Park Dance. . . . . . Villa SPECIAL PUBLICATIONS 2010 INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION SOUVENIR BOOK – The International Convention will introduce the soft-cover edition of Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age. This book, first printed in 1957, tells the history of A.A.'s beginnings, shares about the early growth of A.A. around the world, and recounts the historic 1955 International Convention in Cleveland, when the oldtimers turned responsibility for A.A.'s future over to the entire membership. If you have never read this book, we hope that you will treat yourself to this fascinating chronicle. A.A. GRAPEVINE 75TH ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION ISSUE – Published for the 2010 International Convention, this special issue of the Grapevine celebrates the birth and world-wide growth of Alcoholics Anonymous from 1935 to the present.
