SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM
The KEGS FOUNDATION is pleased to announce the continuation of its geophysical scholarship program for
2017, and encourages qualified applicants studying geophysics or allied fields at a Canadian university to apply
for scholarship support the forthcoming academic year.
Now in its sixteenth year of supporting education in geophysics in Canada, the KEGS Foundation primarily
directs its scholarship awards to undergraduate students who have demonstrated a definite interest and aptitude
for geophysics, particularly for geophysical exploration; however, applications will also be considered from
graduate students in geophysics who face unusual difficulties in securing adequate support through fellowships
or research grants.
Applicants should submit their applications as early as possible, but no later than April 30, 2017, with supporting
documents and letters of reference by email, fax or mail. Letters of reference may be submitted independently by
their authors. Scholarship awards will be determined by the Board of Directors of the Foundation after reviewing
submitted applications, based on bo th academic excellence and financial need. Notification of awards will be
made by June 30.
Those who receive scholarships will be eligible for bursaries and other support to enable participation in
geophysical symposia or other meetings organized by KEGS (Canadian Exploration Geophysicists Society) in
Toronto and elsewhere in Canada.

FORMULAIRE DE DEMANDE DE BOURSE
Pour la seizième année consécutive la Fondation KEGS est heureuse d'annoncer le renouvellement de son
programme de bourses scolaires. Ces bourses visent l’année académique débutant en septembre 2017. Tout(e)
étudiant(e) actuellement inscrit(e) à une université canadienne, en géophysique ou autre discipline connexe, est
invité(e) à présenter sa candidature.
Les bourses d’études de la Fondation KEGS visent principalement les étudiant(e)s du cycle primaire. Ces
dernier(e)s doivent avoir exprimé ou dé montré un fort intérêt en géophysique, et en particulier en exploration.
Dans certains cas exceptionnels les soumissions des étudiants du cycle supérieur peuvent aussi être considérées.
La date limite de la soumission est le 30 avril 2017, toutefois les candidat(e)s intéressé(e)s sont encouragé(e)s de
soumettre leurs demandes dans les moindres délais. Le mode de soumission préféré pour l’application et les
documents complémentaires soit par courriel, par télécopie ou par la poste. Les lettres de références peuvent être
soumises indépendamment par leurs auteurs. Les lauréats seront choisis par le conseil d'administration de la
Fondation, à la suite d’une considération minutieuse de toutes les soumissions, basée à la fois sur l'excellence
académique et aux besoins financiers. La décision sera annoncée avant le 30 juin.
Ceux et celles qui reçoivent une bourse d'études pourront aussi reçevoir des subventions pour participer aux
symposia géophysiques ou autres ateliers organisés par KEGS (Canadian Exploration Geophysics Society) et qui
sont tenus à Toronto ou dans d’autres lieux au Canada.
