INTENDED USE
PlasmaRef ARL-2 is an assayed reference abnormal plasma for use in the quantitative
determination of coagulation proteins.
SUMMARY AND PRINCIPLES
Fresh pooled normal plasma or assayed reference normal plasma is necessary to construct
the standard curve(s) in assay(s) that quantify the activity of coagulation factor(s) in
patient plasmas. PlasmaRef ARL-2 is used as an abnormal plasma validator for such
curves.
The coagulation factor activities of PlasmaRef ARL-2 are assigned against a freeze dried
assayed standard, a fresh frozen normal pool, and, for most analytes, a World Health
Organization standard. PlasmaRef ARL-2 has assigned values for fibrinogen, FII, FV,
FVII, FVIII, FIX, FX, FXI, FXII, AT-III (functional), Plasminogen (chromogenic and
immunologic), Protein C (chromogenic, clotting, and immunologic), Protein S Total
antigen (immunologic), Protein S Free antigen (immunologic), Protein S activity
(clotting), and alpha-2 antiplasmin (chromogenic).
PlasmaRef ARL-2 is used in factor assays and other tests in the same manner as a fresh
plasma.
POUR UTILISATION DIAGNOSTIQUE IN VITRO UNIQUEMENT
Ingrédients : PlasmaRef ARL-2 est préparé à partir d'un pool de plasmas normaux
citratés et congelés, provenant de donneurs sains. Le pool est tamponné et lyophilisé pour
accroître la stabilité de tous les composants du plasma. PlasmaRef ARL-2 est conditionné
en flacons de 1 ml (x 10).
AVERTISSEMENT : Risque biologique : Le produit PlasmaRef ARL-2 s'est avéré
négatif à l'antigène de l'hépatite B (HBsAg) et aux anticorps anti-VHC et anti-VIH lors de

Préparation avant utilisation : Reconstituer chaque flacon de PlasmaRef ARL-2 avec
1,0 ml d'eau distillée ou déionisée. Remuer doucement ; ne pas secouer. Laisser reposer
pendant 15 minutes pour garantir une totale dissolution.
Conservation et stabilité : Conserver les flacons non ouverts à -25 °C minimum. Le
PlasmaRef ARL-2 lyophilisé est stable jusqu'à la date d'expiration indiquée sur le flacon,
l'emballage et le certificat d'analyse. Après reconstitution, le produit est stable pendant
deux heures s'il est conservé entre 2 et 8 °C. Ne pas placer le PlasmaRef ARL-2
reconstitué directement sur de la glace.
REAGENTS
INSTRUMENTS
FOR IN-VITRO DIAGNOSIC USE ONLY
Ingredients: PlasmaRef ARL-2 is prepared from a pool of frozen citrated normal
plasmas from healthy donors. The pool is buffered and lyophilized to maximize stability
of all plasma constituents. PlasmaRef ARL-2 is packaged as 10 x 1 mL vials.
PlasmaRef ARL-2 peut être utilisé pour les tests de coagulation réalisés sur tout

WARNING: Potential Biohazard: The PlasmaRef ARL-2 has been found negative for
Hepatitis B Antigen (HBsAg) and antibodies to HCV and HIV by FDA licensed tests.
The control plasma should be handled with the same precaution observed when handling
potentially infectious patient plasmas.
Preparation for Use: Reconstitute each vial of PlasmaRef ARL-2 with 1.0 mL of
distilled or deionized water. Swirl gently; do not shake. Allow product to stand for 15
minutes to insure complete dissolution.
Storage and Stability: Store unopened vials at -25C or below. The lyophilized
PlasmaRef ARL-2 is stable until the expiration date printed on the vial, the box and the
certificate of analysis. After reconstitution, the product is stable for two hours when maintained at 2-8°C. Do not place reconstituted PlasmaRef ARL-2 directly on ice.
LIMITES
INSTRUMENTS
PlasmaRef ARL-2 may be used for coagulation tests on any mechanical or photo-optical
coagulation instrument in conjunction with suitable commercial reagents. Chromogenic
assays may be performed on any suitable spectrophotometric instrument.
LIMITATIONS
The results obtained with PlasmaRef ARL-2 depend on several factors including
instrumentation, types of reagents, factor deficient substrates and laboratory-to-laboratory
variations. For optimum results, laboratories should establish mean values and expected
reference ranges for their particular laboratory’s coagulation system.

système instrument-réactif utilisé. Si les performances du produit ne sont pas celles
attendues, les résultats du patient doivent être considérés comme non valides. Le numéro
de lot imprimé sur le certificat d'analyse doit être le même que celui figurant sur le flacon
de PlasmaRef ARL-2 utilisé.

The assayed percent activities of the various coagulation factors should be taken from
“Control Value” column as a guideline. It is recommended that PlasmaRef ARL-2 be run
daily in duplicate according to instructions given in a particular laboratory. The laboratory
should establish an expected QC range for the particular instrument-reagent system used.
If the product does not perform as expected, the patient results should be considered
invalid. The lot number printed on the Certificate of Analysis should be the same as that
on the vial of PlasmaRef ARL-2 to be used.

REAGENZIEN

schütteln! Produkt 15 Minuten ruhen lassen, damit sich alle Bestandteile komplett
auflösen.
Lagerung und Stabilität: Ungeöffnetes Fläschchen bei oder unter -25 ºC lagern. Das
lyophilisierte PlasmaRef ARL-2 ist bis zu dem auf dem Fläschchen, der Verpackung und
dem Analysenzertifikat angegebenen Verfallsdatum stabil. Nachdem das Produkt
rekonstituiert wurde, ist es bei 2 - 8 °C für 2 Stunden stabil. Rekonstituiertes PlasmaRef
ARL-2 nicht direkt auf Eis stellen.
GERÄTE
PlasmaRef ARL-2 eignet sich für Gerinnungstests auf jedem beliebigen mechanischen
oder photooptischen Gerinnungsgerät in Verbindung mit den geeigneten handelsüblichen
Reagenzien. Chromogene Assays können auf jedem beliebigen geeigneten
spektrophotometrischen Gerät ausgeführt werden.

zweifacher Ausfertigung getestet wird. Es sollte ein laborspezifischer zu erwartender QKBereich für das im Labor verwendete Geräte-Reagenz-System festgelegt werden. Wenn
das Produkt nicht die zu erwartenden Ergebnisse liefert, sind die Patientenergebnisse als
ungültig anzusehen. Die auf dem Analysenzertifikat angegebene Losnummer sollte mit
der Nummer auf dem Fläschchen des zu verwendenden PlasmaRef ARL-2
übereinstimmen.

Le attività percentuali saggiate dei vari fattori di coagulazione devono essere attinte dalla
colonna “Valore di controllo” come linea guida. Si consiglia di effettuare PlasmaRef
ARL-2 due volte al giorno secondo le istruzioni fornite in un particolare laboratorio. Il
laboratorio deve fissare un range previsto per il controllo della qualità per il particolare
sistema strumento-reagente utilizzato. Se il prodotto non ha le prestazioni previste, i

REAGENTI
ESCLUSIVAMENTE PER USO DIAGNOSTICO IN VITRO
Ingredienti: PlasmaRef ARL-2 viene preparato da un insieme di plasmi normali citrati
congelati da donatori sani. L’insieme viene tamponato e liofilizzato per massimizzare la
stabilità di tutti i costituenti del plasma. PlasmaRef ARL-2 viene confezionato in
confezioni da 10 fiale da 1 mL.
ATTENZIONE: Potenziale rischio biologico. È stato verificato che PlasmaRef ARL-2 è
negativo all’antigene dell’epatite B (HBsAg) e agli anticorpi ad HCV e HIV mediante test

directamente en hielo.
INSTRUMENTOS
PlasmaRef ARL-2 se puede utilizar para pruebas de coagulación en cualquier analizador
de coagulación fotoóptico o mecánico junto con reactivos comerciales adecuados. Los
ensayos cromogénicos se pueden realizar en cualquier instrumento espectrofotométrico

LÍMITES
Los resultados obtenidos con PlasmaRef ARL-2 dependen de diversos factores entre los

PlasmaRef ARL-2 que se vaya a utilizar.
LIMITAZIONI
I risultati ottenuti con PlasmaRef ARL-2 dipendono da vari fattori, tra cui strumentazione,
