We were very honoured to host the Bi Annual in March
this year
Beautiful Devon Valley Hotel. Thank
you to our members and guests that attended the Gala Dinner in Celebration of our 10 th Anniversary.
The World Congress is being held in Mexico this year. Due to the cost of the Rand I proposed to the
committee that I do not attend the World Congress this year. My commitment to Skål Winelands is to
create awareness within Stellenbosch, Gordon’s Bay and Somerset West about the benefits of Skål, to
further grow our membership and assist where possible to identify business opportunities for our

Skål International is celebrating their 80th Year This Year.
Which is a fantastic achievement from one club to being a
International association with 17000 members in 400 clubs

Skal Winelands Special Event – Murder Mystery
Raid your closet, fluff out the feathers and dust of your masks
this time the Skal Winelands Murder Mystery is going
Burlesque
This is a fantastic event with each attendee needing to
deduct out who at the table was responsible for the demise
of the fabulous Fifi Fatale.
It all comes alive at The Mysterious Weltevreden Estate
Please join us on Saturday 2nd August 2014 - 19:00 for 19:30
for a sumptuous feast, great entertainment , prizes and of
course the grand unveiling of who did the dastardly deed.
Community Projects
One of our community projects this year is to join the
Strand and Gordon’s Bay Community clean the beaches on
the first Saturday of each month starting at 9:00. Please join
us in keeping our beaches clean which attract tourists,
families and fishermen.
We will be asking members and their guests to please
donate food for the SPCA for both doggies and kitties at our
next lunch

We had a great lunch at Delheim, our speaker

SKAL Happenings – Cape Town Golf Day
Golf Day
Skål Cape Town are hosting their Annual The Patti
Kannemeyer Golf day on the 11th September at
Rondebosch Golf Club.
Please support Cape Town and put a 4 Ball together.
This is a great way to entertain your customers or
get together with friends.
If you are not a golfer please attend the prize giving
and dinner in the evening.

Skål International South Africa had a stand at SA
World Travel Market held in South Africa.
Members were invited to participate on the stand
to promote their business and Promote Skål. A

Lunch? This year we bring you great news, we will be

Annemarie Ferns was the proud winner of the Karl Twiggs Trophy for
