Notre première collection MADRAS s’inspire très largement du
traditionnel tissu « madras », une étoffe à chaîne de soie et à trame
de coton, de couleurs vives, mosaïque de rouge, de jaune, de
vert… Originaire de la ville de Madras (l'actuelle Chennai, capitale
de la Province du Tamil Nadu au sud-est de l'Inde), le tissu « madras
» a été importé dans les Caraïbes vers le XVIIème siècle.
Le motif original de la collection MADRAS apporte sa touche
de modernité à l’histoire. A dominante orangé, jaune et bleu, il
enchantera votre univers, à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur de la
maison.

Our first MADRAS collection draws its inspiration from the
traditional “Madras”, a brightly coloured cotton and silk weave
cloth in a patchwork of reds, yellows and greens. Originally from
the city of Madras (now called Chennai, the capital of the Province
of Tamil Nadu in south-east India), “Madras” fabric was imported
into the Caribbean towards the seventeenth century.
The original design of our MADRAS collection, with its
predominantly orange, yellow and blue colour scheme, adds its
own dash of modernity to history and will brighten up your world,
both indoors and out.

La qualité française
100% coton, la collection MADRAS a été tissée en France, au Pays
Basque, dans une entreprise labélisée EPV, Entreprise du Patrimoine
Vivant. Le motif MADRAS a été élaboré sur des métiers à tisser
à partir de six coloris de fil 100% coton : bleu alizé, jaune safran,
orange papaye, vert carambole, rouge groseille et blanc orchidée.

The 100% cotton MADRAS collection is woven in the Basque region
of France by a company that has been awarded the Entreprise du
Patrimoine Vivant label (‘living heritage business). The MADRAS
design was developed on looms using 100% cotton threads in six
different colours: trade-wind blue, saffron yellow, papaya orange,
star-fruit green, redcurrant red and orchid white.
