Woltex
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Meter
Introduction
The Woltex horizontal turbine meter provides superior
accuracy and reliability in large-scale commercial and
industrial (C&I) applications. Available in 6-, 8- and 10inch sizes, the Woltex features a wide flow range that
is perfect for water distribution applications. Measuring
elements within the meter are interchangeable, easy to
replace and require no calibration.
Woltex features & benefits
The high-volume flows found in water distribution
networks require a meter that is both durable and
accurate. Woltex meters from Itron not only precisely
measure consumption—at the wide range of flow
rates typical of C&I customers—but are also extremely
reliable and easy to service. Certified under American
Water Works Association (AWWA) C701 and NSF-61
approved, the Woltex C&I meter meets or exceeds
stringent industry requirements for the utmost in
deployment confidence.

Utilizing Woltex C&I meters, you can:
> Reduce costs to implement AMR systems with the new integrated 80W-i module, or with the Cyble module that works with Itron water AMR products
> Receive greater long-term reliability—few moving
parts reduce the wear from water borne grit and particulates that can impact meter performance
> Enable conservation efforts and programs by more accurately measuring water usage for your C&I customers
> Quickly repair meters in the field when necessary—interchangeable measuring elements require no recalibration
> Install the right meter for your C&I applications with meters in 6-, 8- and 10-inch sizes

Operating principle
As the water velocity rotates the horizontal turbine,
the specially-shaped inlet and outlet bearings
counteract the natural hydraulic thrust applied to the
turbine, preventing any downstream pivot wear. This
hydrodynamically-balanced design results in a meter
that is able to withstand sustained high flows without
diminishing its accuracy at lower rates. A direct
magnetic coupling transmits the turbine rotation
to the hermetically sealed register. The copper can
and mineral glass register enclouser safeguards the
indicator from adverse conditions.
Cyble
Cyble technology enables Flostar residential meters
to be read with AMR module technologies like the 60
Series and the Water SaveSource endpoint. There are
two Cyble module choices: the Cyble Coder and the
Cyble Sensor. The Cyble Coder can be configured for
a two or three wire application and the Cyble Sensor
is a pulse output device, both suited for various remote
reading applications. A Cyble module can be installed
in the field without having to upgrade the register.
