Hérold) – Wexford Festival Opera – 2015 Opera Canada – Winter 2016 – Patrick Dillon “Soprano Magali Simard-Galdès was a delicious lemon soufflé of a soubrette (...)” Opera News – February 2016 – Brian Kellow « Magali Simard-Galdès was delightful as Nicette, the innkeeper […] » Opera Journal – 04/11/15 – Charles Jernigan « I really liked Magali Simard-Galdès as Nicette, who also sang a Lunchtime Recital. She is a charming, animated actress, perfect in light roles like Nicette, or in the music she sang in the recital. (One of her songs, a Spanish-style French song was by Calixa Lavallée, the composer of Canada's national anthem "O Canada"; another was the very funny "Fly Duet" from Offenbach's Orphée aux enfers, with compatriot Dominique Côté.) » Opera Today – 31/10/15 – Claire Seymour « Te Canadian duo, soprano Magali Simard-Galdès and baritone Tomislav Lavoie, eased us delightfully into proceedings, demonstrating vocal charm and dramatic vivacity. It was almost a shame that their duet, which established a wonderfully ebullient spirit, was followed by the arrival of Mergy, thereby abruptly curtailing the buoyancy of their sincere happiness! [...] Simard-Galdès, however, revealed a captivating vocal agility, not least in the Act 3 rondo, ‘À la fleur du bel âge’, with which she serenades her wedding guests. » The Times – 30/10/15 – Anna Picard « Yet the evening belongs to the [24]-year-old Magali Simard-Galdès (Nicette) making her professionnal debut with sparkling foritura […] » The ArtsDesk.com – 28/10/15 – Alexandra Coghlan « Strong support from Magali Simard-Galdes’s perky, soubrette Nicette (her wedding song is a highlight) and her tetchy Girot (Tomislav Lavoie) round out the operatic picture. » Bachtrack – 24/10/15 – Mark Pullinger « Canadian soprano Magali Simard-Galdès, making her european debut, was a delightful Nicette, who despite being peripheral to the plot - earns a couple of charming arias, including the folk-like "À la fleur du bel âge", with which she serenades guests at her wedding. Simard-Galdès made Nicette bubble with enthusiasm. » RSB artists Artists management / Agence artistique La Falconnière - A2 - F-69340 Francheville - France - Tel +33 6 747 617 97 - Fax +33 4 861 724 30 [email protected] - www.rsbartists.com RSB artists Artists management / Agence artistique La Falconnière - A2 - F-69340 Francheville - France - Tel +33 6 747 617 97 - Fax +33 4 861 724 30 [email protected] - www.rsbartists.com
