CHEZ BOP WELCOMES BETTY BOP SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION MARKING USA DEBUT OF THE POPULAR FRENCH LINE June Kick‐Off Event Celebrates first US Appearance of Elisabeth Delaunay’s Line (Los Angeles) – May 14th, 2010 – Chez Bop, the newest retailer at Sunset Plaza, the exclusive shopping destination renowned for its collection of upscale boutiques and dining options, announces the May 16 arrival of the 'Betty Bop' spring/summer collection, marking the first appearance of the Elisabeth Delaunay Award‐winning French collection in the US. The 'Betty Bop' spring/summer collection will feature Delaunay’s signature pure lace, silk, satin and woven fabrics with an antique retro, romantic feel. Her styles and colors, appropriate for spring and summer, include pastels that allow her signature lace and ruffles, supplied by traditional lace makers in Northern France, to stand out. To celebrate the launch of the collection and the debut of 'Betty Bop' in the US, as well as the launch of Rosalie March’s Betty Bop‐inspired French handbag collection, Chez Bop will host a reception in June. “Betty Bop is one of my favorite lines, which I have personally worn for more than 10 years, and I am excited and proud to debut it here in the US with her spring/summer line,” says Chez Bop owner Bonnie Baker. “Elisabeth is known for using precious fabrics to create delicate and beautiful garments, and the spring/summer collection is no exception. Rosalie March’s collection of intricate handbags, inspired by the Betty Bop collection, will be an excellent complement and an exciting debut in its own right.” Betty Bop of France, founded in 1984, is a women’s apparel, fragrance and fashion accessories line utilizing pure French lace, silk, satin, knit, and cotton as its main fabrics. All garments, taking a handcrafted approach and produced on "family” sewing machines using decreased stitching techniques, are manufactured in‐house in the South of France, where Delaunay resides. Rosalie March, a noted Laguna Beach based handbag artisan and painter, exhibits her one‐of‐a‐kind fabric purses, created from found vintage objects, and her expressionistic oil paintings at the Sawdust Art Festival Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. Chez Bop, which opened February 1, is a unique boutique dedicated to hosting only new designs by notable and emerging local and international artisans, all exclusive to Chez Bop and to LA. Chez Bop designs for the independent, alternative, confident and fun spirited 18‐80 year old woman who is looking for individual style. Collections include unique, contemporary lifestyle apparel from European designers Aventures Des Toiles and Indies of Paris; elegant designed Elaris sweaters and tops from Los Angeles designer Hanna Friedman; hip and chic clothing from emerging designers Kay Lim from Los Angeles and Amanda Christine from Minneapolis; one‐of‐a‐kind handbags from emerging Los Angeles artist Rachel Machado; and jewelry and silk/taffeta apparel from award winning South African designer and Chicago resident, Adele Dallas Orr.
