RETIREMENT MESSAGE – Mcpl Patrice Buck, CD – SUPPLY TECH After 37 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Forces (CF) and the Supply Trade, Mcpl Buck will be retiring on 11 July 2015. Mcpl Buck joined the Naval Reserve in 1974, serving until 1977. On 07 Feb 1977 she joined the Reg Force and was posted to CFB Moose Jaw where she worked at various supply sections such as CE Supply, POL, Clothing Store, R&D, Major Equipment, and Customer Services. In 1984 she was posted to CFB Uplands and worked out of 12 Hgr (6NQ) aircraft supply for a year. From there she shuffled down the flight line to 450 Tactical Helicopter Sqn for another year. In Sept 1986 was posted with the Career Managers, serving there until 1988. From 1988 to 1989 she worked for LETE Supply Ottawa. In 1989 she was posted to CFB Trenton where she worked for the 426 Sqn as a flight attendant, attending to the needs of passengers and crew members aboard the 707 Boeing aircraft. In 1993 she was posted to CFB Cold Lake where she worked for CE Supply section and 441 Sqn Tactical Fighter. In Aug 1997 she took her release from the Reg Force under the FRP program. Upon release MCpl Buck moved to Ottawa and decided to take a 2 year hiatus from the military. Realizing she was missing the military life style, in 2000 she decided to make a comeback and re-­‐
enlisted as a Reservist and landed employment with CFNIS as the unit’s supply tech. She was there for six years before the position was converted from reserve to regular force. From Aug 2006 to March 2013 she landed employment with ADM (IM) Group as the senior supply tech managing the NPB warehouse for the procurement of IT equipment being purchased for DND. In May 2013 she once again landed a position, this time with ADM (MAT) with the NDQAR R&O 3rd line contractor section, where she will remain until her retirement. MCpl Buck plans to remain in the Gatineau area. Patti has thoroughly enjoyed her career in the CF and hopes to see past and present colleagues at an informal luncheon to be held Friday 10 July 2015 at the restaurant Les Brasseurs du Temps, 170 Montcalm, Gatineau (Québec) J8X 2M2. Cplc Buck a joint les FC comme réserviste de la marine en 1974 et ce, jusqu'en 1977. Le 7 février 1977, elle décida de rejoindre les forces régulières et fut mutée à BFC Moose Saskatchewan où elle travailla dans plusieurs sections comme CE Appro, POL, Magasin d’habillement, R&D, Équipement Majeure et Service aux Clients. En 1984, elle fut mutée à BFC Uplands et travailla au 12 Hgr (6NQ) comme Tech Appro pour les avions pour une durée approximative d'une année et pour ensuite être transférée au 450 escadron hélicoptère tactique pour une autre année. En septembre 1986, elle prit l’opportunité de travailler avec l’équipe des gérants de carrières jusqu’en 1988. De 1998 à 1989, elle travailla pour LETE Ottawa Appro. En 1989, elle fut transférée à BFC Trenton comme hôtesse de l’air ou elle prenait soin des passagers et des membres de l’équipage à bord d'un Boeing 707. C'est en 1993 qu'elle rejoint la BFC Cold Lake ou elle y travaillera comme CE Appro, 441 Escadron tactique de combat, jusqu'à sa sortie des forces due au FRP en août 1997. Elle décida de prendre sa mutation finale en 1998 et fut déménagée à Ottawa où elle prit la décision de prendre deux années sabbatiques des Forces canadiennes. Réalisant que la vie militaire lui manquait, elle décida de rejoindre les FC en 2000 en tant que réserviste et elle fut employée au SNEFC comme Tech Appro pendant six ans. D’août 2006 à mars 2013, elle fut employée par SMA (IM) comme Tech Appro pour gérer l’entrepôt d’Imprimerie National du Canada à la section des achats pour le ministère de la défense. En mai 2013, elle rejoignait SMA (MAT) avec la section RAQDN Ottawa ou elle travaille présentement jusqu’à son départ à la retraite. Cplc Buck planifie rester dans la région de Gatineau.
