MICHEL DESVIGNE landscape architect
Born in France in 1958,
1977 -1979 – Natural sciences Faculty in Lyon, diploma in Botanical-geology
1979 -1984 – Landscape Architectural diploma from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage at
Versailles (1984).
1983 –1986 – Projects either private or in collaboration with French Landscape Architects – Michel
Corajoud and Alexander Chemetoff.
1986 – Laureate for the French Academy Competition in Rome, Villa Medicis, architectural section.
1986 -1987– Pensioner at the Villa Medici in Rome, personal research.
1988 – Benefit of a grant from the FIACRE (French Ministry of Culture) to pursue his personal research,
sculptural section.
1988, Michel Desvigne founded his office.

French Prize for Public Space “Metropolitan territories”, Le Moniteur, 2013
French national Urbanism Grand Prize, 2011
Luxembourg landscape architecture Prize, 2011
Chevalier des Arts et Lettres, 2003.
Finalist Diploma, awarded in January 2002 by the « el Jurat Internacional del 2 Premi Europeu de
Paisatge Rosa Barba » “(Rosa Barba Landscape Architectural Award) for the Greenwich Millenium
project in London.
Civic Trust Award awarded in september 2002 for the Greenwich Millenium project in London.
French Acadamy Architectural Medal, 2000.
Teaching
1985-1995 – Responsible for workshops at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage at Versailles.
1993 –Chosen by the Art Schools as « New creator » in the frame of an exhibition organised by the
French Ministry of Culture.
1994-1998 – Invited professor at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland),
Architectural department, chared by Luigi Snozzi.
1999 – Invited professor at Harvard University (United States).
2000 – Workshops at the Architectural Association London (United Kingdom).
2000 – Invited professor at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio (Switzerland).
