Working with the Celtic knot as a symbol of both my own heritage and a connection to the natural world, I
have used rocks and other natural materials to construct knots and explore rock as a connection to history
and memory. In one installation in Chile, I explored the idea of rock as a recorder of history by painting rocks
with words in English, Spanish, and French (such as “memory,” “recuerdo,” “histoire”). They were then
placed in a fountain, where the words washed away. Sometimes the rocks were taken. In phase two of this
project, in Ontario, I use rocks I brought back from Chile to explore the connection between physical location
and memory.
Dans mon travail avec le nœud celtique qui symbolise à la fois mon propre patrimoine et un lien avec le monde
naturel, j’utilise des pierres et d’autres matériaux naturels pour façonner des nœuds dans divers endroits. Dans
une installation au Chili, j’ai exploré l’idée de la pierre comme témoin de l’histoire en peignant des mots anglais,
espagnols et français (« memory », « recuerdo », « histoire ») sur des pierres que j’ai alors placées dans une fontaine
où l’eau a lavé les mots. Parfois les pierres disparaissaient. Durant la seconde étape du projet en Ontario, j’utilise
les pierres que j’ai ramenées du Chili pour explorer le lien entre la mémoire et l’emplacement physique.
Trabajar con el nudo Celtico es como un símbolo de mi propia herencia cultural así como una conexión con
el mundo natural, he usado rocas y otros materiales para construir nudos y explorar las rocas como una

Adrienne Reynolds is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design’s sculpture installation
progam. Her works have shown in Canada, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. She is an active member of A
Space, where she served on the board of directors for three years and the programming committee for
two. In 2002 and 2003, she was the lead visual artist for the Buddies in Bad Times Summer Youth Arts
Programme. In 2003, she exhibited her work at Zsa Zsa in Toronto and will be part of a biennale in
Serbia in 2004.
Adrienne Reynolds est diplômé du programme d’installations sculpturales du Collège des beaux-arts et de
design de l’Ontario. Elle a présenté son travail au Canada, au Brésil, au Chili et au Mexique. Membre active
de A Space, elle a été membre du conseil d’administration durant trois ans et du comité de programmation
durant deux ans. En 2002 et 2003, elle a été la principale artiste visuelle de programme d’art estival pour les
jeunes « Buddies in Bad Times ». En 2003, elle a exposé son travail chez Zsa Zsa à Toronto et fera part d’une
Biennale en Serbie au 2004.
Adrienne Reynolds es egresada del Ontario College of Art and Design, en la especialidad de
Escultura/Instalación. Su obra ha sido mostrada en Canadá, Brasil, Chile, y México. Ella es miembro activo
de la Galería A Space, y desde hace tres años forma parte de su Consejo Administrativo, en los dos últimos
ha pertenecido al Comité de Programación. En los años 20002 y 2003, Adrienne, fue la artista líder en el
Programa de Verano de las Artes Juveniles en el Buddies in Bad Times. En el 2003 su trabajo ha sido exhibido
en Zsa Zsa en Toronto, y en el año 2004 será parte de la Bienal de Serbia.
