Votre magazine est le partenaire et parrain du « Village de l’Ergonomie », l’espace ergonomie et bien-être au travail
du grand rendez-vous international, biennal, Expoprotection à
Paris : le salon de la prévention et de la gestion des risques. Ergonoma Journal a réalisé pour vous, avec ce numéro, le catalogue
dédié aux acteurs : ergonomes, organismes de formation, fabricants, distributeurs qui participent à la prévention, à l’amélioration
et à l’installation de solutions ergonomiques et de bien–être au
travail, présents au salon. Dans ce numéro, vous trouverez aussi
des nouveautés en avant- première d’Orgatec**. Le bien–être
au travail et les solutions ergonomiques n’ont jamais suscité autant d’intérêt, la prise de conscience est collective : à lire (p 24)
le point de vue de Jean-Louis Peralta***. On oppose trop souvent
design et ergonomie, pourtant, la réflexion devrait porter plus souvent sur le design, parce que il est plus plaisant à regarder, et ne
contribue-t-il pas au bien être ou à l’estime personnelle de l’utilisateur ? Alors que la performance vécue dans l’inconscient collectif
comme une « chose » imposée est douloureuse ? Cet automne, la
création présentée est dense, est-ce à dire qu’après un printemps
morose, l’espoir aura eu raison des nuages et des nuées de crises.
Enfin des outils performants, réfléchis et beaux, versus l’utilisateur
final,. Les fabricants ont-il enfin entendu et compris la démarche
des designers : « Si l’objet est beau on a plus de plaisir à l’utiliser »,
n’est-ce pas là, la première marche vers l’acceptation du travail?
Evidemment cela ne suffit pas, il faut agir sur l’organisation, les
conditions de réalisation de l’action, prévenir les risques professionnels, et veiller à la santé des salariés. Au fil des pages, regardez ces
nouveaux fauteuils de travail au look plus design (p5) ces accessoires indispensables du gain de place sur le plan de travail (p10),
un nouveau concept développé par VITRA (p13) et mis en place
pour 200 salariés dans son pôle production non loin de Bâle. Nous
vous attendons, nouveaux et fidèles lecteurs, annonceurs, exposants, au « Village de l’ergonomie », ce lieu est vôtre.

this issue your catalogue dedicated to actors: ergonomics, training organizations, manufacturers and distributors participating in
the prevention, improvement and installation of ergonomic and
well-being work solutions at the exhibition. In this issue, you'll find
new products as a preview of Orgatec **. Wellness at work and
ergonomic solutions have never received such attention, their
awareness is collective: please read (p 24) Jean-Louis Peralta’s
point of view ***. Design and ergonomics are too often opposed,
however, thoughts should mostly be about design, if it is nicer to
watch, doesn’t it contribute to the well being and/or to the user's
self esteem ? While the performance, in the collective unconscious, is experienced as an imposed painful "thing"? This autumn,
the creation presented is dense, does this mean that after a sullen
spring, hope has prevailed on crisis clouds? At last, powerful and
thoughtful tools, versus the end user… and also beautiful. Have
manufacturers finally heard and understood designers’ approach:

towards accepting work? Obviously this is not enough, we must
act on the organization and the conditions for implementing the
action, to prevent occupational hazards, and ensure employees
‘health. Throughout the pages, look at these new more “design focus” work chairs (p5), these essential accessories saving space on
work plan (p10), a new concept developed by Vitra (p13), and implemented for 200 employees in its production centre near Basel.

The new German Dauphin-branded “InTouch” swivel chair from
designer Martin Ballendat will be presented at Orgatec 2010.
The seat and backrest follow all forward and backward physical
movements, remaining “in touch”. Dauphin’s patented synchronised mechanism, seat and backrest are flexible and pliable in
such a way that they maintain contact with the user’s body and
provide optimum ergonomic support in any position. In the process, the rear part of the seat tilts up or down in response to the
user’s natural hip movements, ensuring the optimum movement
with respect to the back. The seat surface is split into three and
the elastic backrest flexes towards the rear and at both sides,
wrapping around the user’s entire back. As a result,
it offers continuous support in any seated posture
as well as permanent contact in the lumbar region.

2010. L'assise et le dossier suivent tous les mouvements physiques
avant et arrière, restant "en contact". Mécanisme synchronisé breveté Dauphin, assise et dossier du siège sont flexibles et pliables,
de telle sorte qu'ils maintiennent le contact avec le corps de l'utilisateur, et fournissent un support ergonomique optimal dans
n'importe quelle position. Dans le processus, la partie arrière
du siège s'incline vers le haut ou vers le bas en fonction des
mouvements naturels des hanches de l'utilisateur, par un
mouvement optimal par rapport au dos. L'assise est divisée
en trois, et le dossier élastique fléchit vers l'arrière et sur les

Le nouveau siège Giroflex 434 du suisse Giroflex se distingue

A new Giroflex 434 seat by Swiss Giroflex - a new swivel chair
with padded backrest optimizing seating comfort that extends
the range of giroflex 434 seats. The balanced form of the new
padded backrest provides perfect support, horizontally and vertically, for the user's back, maximizing the sitting comfort. This seating range signed Greutmann Bolzern (design studio in Zurich) now
includes five swivel seats models, three extra chairs and a conference chair.
The Giroflex 646 visitors monocoque seat completes the series of
seats of the same name with a lightweight and design seat. This

The comfortable "mouse" RollerMouse Free2 by American
Contour Design (front cover picture) is a central pointer which
uses a control bar to move the cursor. Plug and Play, it plugs directly
into a USB port. Even if the adaptation to the central pointer is fast,
bad habits with traditional mousse must be eliminated. After a few
execution "failures", one wonders why our PC or Mac computers do
not incorporate this tool in their original package! The control bar
is accurate, fingertip intuitive, can be slid sideways and in depth
to move the cursor horizontally and vertically on the screen without any effort. The cursor controls can be found a few centimeters
below the keyboard, allowing to keep one’s hands in a reduced

qui utilise une barre de contrôle pour déplacer le curseur. Suivant la
méthode Plug and Play, il se branche directement sur un port USB.
Même si l’adaptation au pointeur central est rapide, il faut éliminer
les mauvaises habitudes prises avec les souris traditionnelles. Après
quelques « ratages » d’exécution, on se demande pourquoi nos ordinateurs Mac ou Pc n’intègrent pas cet outil dans leur pack initial !

The Braille Signage: accessibility for all, developed by French
company Wattelez. Self-adhesive, it is extremely easy to implement. Each sign features an ISO symbol, allowing any sighted person, even illiterate or foreign, to understand easily the meaning.
Under the pictogram, the information is transcribed into Braille on
a 110 ° tilted shelf. Ergonomic, this angle easily allows the hand of
a blind person to get this information and also prevents the Braille
Signage to serve as an ashtray for example. Braille Signs are fixed

360 ° by Italian Magis, an architects and drawing offices oriented line. A true architect's table, the 360° Magis table,
published in 2010, designed by Konstantin Grcic, is 73-95 cm height adjustable. Its base is made of cast aluminum,
with an aluminum frame, on a steel rail. Varnished MDF plate. Its dimensions are 140X90cm; it is also available with

Largeur 68 cm x Prof 83 cm x Hauteur réglable de 69 à 78 cm - Assise : Hauteur réglable de 47 à 56 cm. Il faut y ajouter le
meuble « container roulant » d’architecte « au design revisité » 5 tiroirs empilés les uns sur les autres articulés sur un axe qui
leur permet de pivoter à 360°. Il dispose également d’une tablette amovible pour ranger es petits accessoires. Mobile, il se

Thanks to the more and more efficiently adjustable monitor supports and all articulated screen arms, you can easily become from your
office, a virtual "NASA engineer, pilot, air traffic controller or broker" and as they do, multiply at leisure your visual work surface without

he proliferation of monitors even with a minimal one or two arms configuration, greatly enhances productivity by removing tiredness,

ince 1989, the Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra, led by Rolf
Fehlbaum who runs this family business since 1977, a true entrepreneur, collector, who sets up his factory space on one of its
production sites in Weil am Rhein (German suburb of his headquarters in Basel in Switzerland, not far from Mulhouse in France).
The Vitra Campus is a true architectural collection, a masterpiece open to the world and the wealth of design with the greatest: Frank
Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Nicholas Grimshaw, Alvaro Siza and Tadao Ando, Jacques Herzog & Pierre De Meuron (March 2010) are represented
with constructions featuring their styles. Photos of the various buildings: www.vitra.com.Design and ergonomics are too often opposed,
however, the thought should be mostly about design, because it is more pleasant to watch, doesn’t it contribute to the well being or to
the user's personal good opinion ? While the performance experienced in the collective unconscious as something imposed, is painful?
Two hundred employees live currently in the harmony of the Net 'n' Nest.
Vitra’s Citizen office
S
wiss Vitra, a publisher and distributor of design furniture, but
also a manufacturer of office furniture, has created in its German unit in Weil am Rhein, a 2250m ² open space office, with
110 fixed posts and forty 'nomads' work stations, enabling it to
accommodate about two hundred employees: Citizen Office,
developed by Vitra, with Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi and
Ettore Sattsass.
A new philosophy : Net ’n’ Nest
T
he staff in this space: creative, administrative and commercial employees, have at the same time work stations for 6-12 people, allowing group communication, partitioned meeting rooms for 4-20 people, isolated alcoves,
a spacious coffee break space in which they may also hold informal meetings and even,
at the center of the area, open skylight courtyards that on sunny days give them the opportunity to work outside. Storage consoles also allow "nomads" to store their mobile cupboards.
Here everything is done for the welfare of employees and therefore their greater efficiency.
This space is based on the thesis of the Net 'n' Nest: we come to the office to communicate
with other people - the Net, but we also sometimes need to isolate ourselves to think or study
a file - the Nest. This individual withdrawal is permitted by the creation of protected from disturbances areas, which may or must be used for concentrated work, relaxation, confidential conversations, etc.. The need for privacy, retreat and quiet legitimacy recognition is essential. The Net 'n' Nest is an attitude and demonstrates that an organization clearly favours
Networking while offering isolation alternatives. This benefits both individuals and the organization as we become more productive through the choice of our environment. In addition,
the office becomes more humane because it respects the natural desire of a private sphere.

epuis 1989, le fabricant de meubles suisse Vitra, sous l’impulsion de Rolf Fehlbaum qui dirige cette entreprise familiale depuis 1977, véritable entrepreneur, collectionneur, aménage son espace usine sur un de ses sites de production, à Weil am Rhein (banlieue Allemande du siège social de
Bâle en Suisse non loin de Mulhouse en France). Le « Campus Vitra » est une véritable collection architecturale, un chef d’ oeuvre ouvert sur le monde
et sur toutes les richesses du design avec les plus grands : Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Nicholas Grimshaw, Alvaro Siza et Tadao Ando, Jacques Herzog &

On oppose trop souvent design et ergonomie, pourtant, la réflexion devrait porter plus souvent sur le design, parce qu’il est plus plaisant à
regarder, ne contribue-t-il pas au bien être ou à l’estime personnelle de l’utilisateur ? Alors que la performance vécue, dans l’inconscient collectif
comme une « chose » imposée, est douloureuse ? Deux cents collaborateurs vivent
en permanence dans l’harmonie du Net 'n' Nest.
Le « Bureau Citoyen » de Vitra
V
itra, spécialisé dans l’édition, la production et la commercialisation de mobilier design pour le bureau, les lieux publics et l’habitat a réalisé, dans son
unité allemande de Weil am Rhein, un espace de bureaux ouvert de 2250m², avec
110 postes fixes et une quarantaine de postes « nomades », lui permettant d’accueillir environ deux cent collaborateurs : le Bureau Citoyen, développé par Vitra,
avec Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi et Ettore Sattsass.
Une nouvelle philosophie : le Net ’n’ Nest
L
es collaborateurs de Vitra réunis dans cet espace sont des créatifs, des administratifs et des commerciaux.
Ils y disposent à la fois de surfaces de travail rassemblant 6 à 12 postes et permettant une communication
de groupe, de salles de réunion cloisonnées de 4 à 20 personnes, d’alcôves permettant de s’isoler, d’un vaste espace pause café dans lequel ils peuvent également tenir des réunions informelles et même au centre de l’espace des patios ouverts en puits de lumière qui aux beaux jours leur donnent la possibilité de travailler à l’extérieur. Des consoles de rangements permettent en outre aux « nomades » de ranger leurs caissons mobiles.
Ici tout est fait pour le bien-être des collaborateurs et donc pour leur plus grande efficacité. Cet espace se
fonde sur la thèse du Net ’n’ Nest : nous venons au bureau pour communiquer avec d’autres personnes – le Net,
mais nous avons également besoin parfois de nous isoler pour réfléchir ou étudier un dossier – le Nest. Ce retrait individuel est permis par la création de zones protégées des perturbations, qui peuvent ou doivent être utilisées pour
un travail concentré, la détente, les conversations confidentielles etc. La reconnaissance de la légitimité de ce
besoin de sphère privée, de recul et de calme est essentielle. Le Net ‘n’ Nest désigne une attitude et démontre
qu’une organisation favorise clairement le Networking tout en proposant des alternatives permettant de s’isoler. Cela profite aussi bien aux personnes qu’à l'organisation puisque nous devenons plus productifs par le choix de
notre environnement. En outre, le bureau devient plus humain car il respecte le besoin naturel d’une sphère privée.

Pourquoi l’ergonomie est
une discipline indispensable

Jean-Louis PERALTA est Président du Syndicat National des Cabinets d’Ergonomie (CICF-SNCE). Il dirige par ailleurs le cabinet ERGONOMIE CONSEIL. Il
expose à Ergonoma Journal pourquoi l’ergonomie est une discipline indispensable qui est portée par des cabinets tenus à l’excellence.
Alors que le débat social français, et pour le moins européen, porte au premier plan les questions de retraite (gestion des âges), d’emplois et de santé
des salariés (prévention des TMS, des Risques Psychosociaux …), l’ergonomie
devient une discipline ressource en capacité de traiter la question du travail
et de ses effets, tant sur la santé des salariés que sur la qualité de la production. La société européenne a bien compris que ces dernières décennies ont apporté des connaissances sur l’homme au travail. Le
cap désormais franchi est celui de l’intégration de ces connaissances dans les grands repères qui structurent la vie économique et
sociale de nos pays. Deux grands axes de déclinaisons existent : la règlementation et la gestion. L’avancée de l’Europe est de donner
un cadre, par les directives européennes notamment, mais aussi par la négociation entre les partenaires sociaux. De telles initiatives ont
été à l’origine de l’intégration dans le code du travail français de la directive européenne sur la prévention des risques professionnels
(1991). Plus récemment, les accords sur les risques psychosociaux ou les troubles musculosquelettiques.
Sur le plan de la gestion, la question est de ramener au niveau de l’entreprise un questionnement sur le travail et ceux qui l’effectuent,
dans la perspective d’une construction participative des conditions de travail. Les interlocuteurs au sein des entreprises existent, qui sont
la base du dialogue social. Mais qu’il s’agisse d’un positionnement politique de l’entreprise via les accords de branche ou d’entreprise
(ex : TMS, Risques Psychosociaux, emploi des seniors…) ou d’une déclinaison de ces accords dans les conditions de travail quotidiennes,
il est indispensable de mettre toutes les chances de succès de son côté en abordant les questions du travail et en permettant aussi une
confrontation des logiques des acteurs visant à une vision discutée des réalités du travail.
Des interlocuteurs existent, les ergonomes, en capacité d’analyser le travail, d’en rendre compte dans un cadre participatif et négocié
et d’accompagner les changements nécessaires à l’entreprise. Le SNCE, de ce point de vue, est en pointe. L’organisation d’une profession (ergonome conseil) tant du point de vue du profil des consultants que de leur reconnaissance nationale et européenne, permet au
monde du travail de recourir à une discipline (l’ergonomie) par le biais d’acteurs spécialisés (les cabinets d’ergonomie).
Cette profession est en fort développement car elle trouve naturellement sa place dans la dynamique économique et sociale actuelle.
A charge des ergonomes eux-mêmes de s’assurer de leurs propres conditions de travail…
L’apport de l’hygiéniste dans la santé au travail
L’hygiène du travail est la discipline de l’anticipation, l’identification, l’évaluation et la maîtrise des risques pour la santé dans le milieu
du travail avec pour objectifs de protéger la santé et le bien-être des travailleurs et de la communauté environnante.
Les risques pour la santé comprennent les agents dangereux issus des lieux de travail ou en émanant tels que les risques chimiques, physiques, biologiques et les facteurs humains (ergonomie). La SOFHYT, en France, présidée par Frédérique PARROT, Responsable Hygiène
Industrielle chez Sanofi Aventis, regroupe les spécialistes dans le domaine de l’hygiène du travail pour promouvoir et développer l'hygiène du travail, l'éthique professionnelle, les échanges avec les instituts et les groupes de travail, promouvoir et accréditer la formation
en hygiène du travail, participer à la stratégie de prévention en hygiène du travail mais aussi en sécurité et environnement. La SOFHYT
est membre de l’IOHA (International Occupational Hygiene Association).
« L’apport de l’hygiéniste dans la santé au travail » : voici le sujet qui sera abordé le jeudi 4 Novembre 2010 à Paris lors du forum organisé
par la SOFHYT (SOciété Française des Hygiénistes du Travail). Cette journée sera l’occasion de retracer l’histoire de cette pratique et
de préciser ses appuis réglementaires en France. Le forum sera aussi l’occasion de présenter quelques enseignements de la discipline
et le nouveau processus de certification IOHA. Enfin, d’autres intervenants aborderont des aspects plus techniques et présenteront
des retours d’expériences d’actions d’hygiénistes du travail en divers contextes. La journée est ouverte aux hygiénistes du travail, aux
préventeurs, aux membres de services de santé, aux étudiants… De quoi donner envie de se spécialiser encore plus dans ce métier
entièrement dédié à la prévention des risques pour la santé dans le contexte professionnel.

Why ergonomics is a necessary discipline
Jean-Louis Peralta is the president of the French Syndicat National des Cabinets d’Ergonomie (CICF-SNCE). He also manages
ERGONOMIE CONSEIL consultancy. He tells Ergonoma Journal why ergonomics is a necessary discipline which is practised by
excellence driven consultancies.
While the French and also the European social debate is at the forefront issues of retirement (age management), employment
and health of employees (prevention of MSDs, Psychosocial Risks...), ergonomics becomes a resource discipline able to address
the work issue and its effects, both on the health of employees and on the quality of production. European society has understood that recent decades have brought a better knowledge about the working man. The cape now crossed is the integration of this knowledge in the major benchmarks that shape the economic and social life of our countries. Two main axis exist:
regulation and management. The advance of Europe is to provide a framework, through the European directives in particular,
but also by a negotiation between the social partners. Such initiatives have been the cause of integration in the French Labour
Code of the European Directive on the prevention of occupational risks (1991). More recently, agreements on psychosocial risks
or musculoskeletal disorders.
In terms of management, the issue is to bring back at the company level questions about work and those who perform it, in
order to build participatory working conditions. The contacts within the companies exist, which are the basis of social dialogue.
But for a political positioning of the company through branch or company agreements (for example: MSDs, Psychosocial Risks,
senior employment ...) or a variation of these agreements in terms of daily work, it is essential to get every chance of success
in addressing work issues and allowing a confrontation of all actors’ logics in order to reach a discussed vision of work realities.
The ergonomists are the negotiators able to analyze the work, to report through a participatory and negotiated framework and
to support the necessary changes in the company. From this point of view, SNCE is most advanced. The organization of a profession (ergonomics consultancies), both in terms of profile of the consultants as well as for their recognized national and European
status, offers the work world a discipline to use (ergonomics) through specialized players (ergonomics consultancies).
This profession is growing strongly as it finds its place in the dynamic economic and social situation. It is up to ergonomists themselves to ensure their own working conditions ....
The contribution of the hygienist
in the health at work
Occupational hygiene is the discipline of anticipating, identifying, evaluating and controlling
health hazards in the workplace with the aim of protecting the health and well-being of workers and surrounding community.
Risks to health include hazardous agents from the workplace or from risks such as chemical,
physical, biological and human factors (ergonomics). SOFHYT, France, chaired by Frederique
PARROT, Industrial Hygiene Manager at Sanofi Aventis, brings together specialists in the field
of occupational health to promote and develop occupational hygiene, professional ethics,
