QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE GEONAV 5 TOURING Car Navigation System 1. KEYBOARD FUNCTIONS 2. SETTINGS 4. MARKER SWITCH ON Press GOTO, then select the SETUP menu by using the CURSOR (see par. 1), and choose the desired option by scrolling the various menus and submenus. From the SETUP menu you can choose all the available options, namely: units of measurement, language, info windows, enablement/disablement of function, etc. • In order to insert a MARKER, move the 3. SET UP A ROUTE 5. INFO WINDOWS NOTE: The symbol on the chart shows the position of the vehicle as it is detected by the GPS system (GPS Fix). SET UP A ROUTE BY MEANS OF THE GPS FIX: In this case, the point of departure is automatically supplied by the GPS Fix. Therefore, it is necessary to set up only the destination, as shown below: • Press GOTO. Choose the destination from one of the following menus using the CURSOR: INDIR (entry of addresses and new points of interest), MRK (previously stored markers), or NEAR (research for the nearest services and points of interest). Enter the first characters of the name of the place chosen on the virtual keyboard, by using the CURSOR and pressing ENTER in order to confirm the character (the virtual keyboard can be enabled/ disabled from the SETUP menu). Once the desired address has been set up, select it as the destination. • Alternatively, the destination can be directly set up by moving the CURSOR to the desired point on the chart, pressing ENTER, and then selecting the destination. SET UP A ROUTE WITHOUT THE GPS FIX: • In this case, it is necessary to set up both the point of departure and the destination, by using one of the methods shown above. NOTE: INDIR shows the list of the addresses that have been previously saved and of all the points of interest that are on the chart. NEAR shows the list of the icons that refer to the nearest services or points of interest. The info windows can be enabled/disabled from the SETUP menu (see par. 2).The following pages are available. Press PAGE to move from one page to the other: 1. Satellites 2. Navigation • Press briefly to adjust brightness and contrast. • Press for 10" to reset. • Press for 2" to switch off. Zoom OUT Zoom IN EXIT • To change page. • It switches from cursor to navigation mode. • To exit. GOTO • Go to MRK (marker), INDIR (addresses and points of interest), NEAR (the nearest one). • SETTINGS (par. 2). ENTER • It inserts a point or a marker. • It confirms the selection of a menu. • It confirms the choices on the virtual keyboard and in the lists. • It repeats the last vocal message. CLEAR • In the navigation mode it deletes the present route. • It deletes a point and/or a marker. • It edits a character in the addresses. • To exit. CURSOR up/down/right/ left • It switches from navigation mode to cursor mode in order to move on the chart. • It selects the options of the menus and submenus. • It selects letters and digits on the keyboard and in the lists. • It adjusts brightness and contrast. • To scroll the information. cursor to the desired point on the chart, then press ENTER and select MARKER. • In order to insert the name of a MARKER, select the characters by using the cursor as if you were setting up an address. • In order to delete a MARKER that had been previously inserted, move the cursor onto it on the chart, and press the CLR (CLEAR) key. 3. The driver must not use the navigator while driving the vehicle, so as to avoid any distractions. Pay always attention to the road signs: in fact, the navigator simply offers tips on possible routes to follow, but it does not supply any indications about manoeuvres that might sometimes prove erroneous owing to inaccurate cartography data or to changes to the traffic regulations and road conditions.
