Michel JUILLERAT
Né à Saint-Imier dans le Jura suisse en 1943. Enfance et adolescence consacrées au
sport. Diplômé de la Haute École Technique de Saint-Imier dans la section horlogerie.
Travaille d’abord en Suisse puis à Londres, en Zambie et aux Etats-Unis. Étudie l’économie
et la psychologie à l’université « Sacred Heart » au Connecticut. L’économie d’entreprise à
Miami et à Harrisburg. Obtient un Master in Business Administration (MBA) à l’université de
l’État de Pennsylvanie. Retour en Europe, travaille en France à Monaco et en Suisse
jusqu’à sa retraite en 2008.
Cinéphile dès l’âge de 15 ans. Découvre les chef-d’œuvres du cinéma au British Film
Institute à Londres. Achète sa première camera en 1965 en Afrique et cinq ans plus tard
commence à remporter des prix au niveau national et international en cinéma et en
photographie. Depuis vingt ans fait partie de nombreux jurys et depuis deux ans est
responsable des concours de swiss.movie.

He’s born in Saint-Imier, Swiss Jura, in 1943. He dedicates his childhood and adolescence
to sports and later graduates in watch making in a Technical College. At first he works in
Switzerland, then in London, Zambia and the United States. He studies Economics and
Psychology at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and Business in Miami and
Harrisburg and obtains a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Pennsylvania
State University. Returns to Europe and he works in France, Monaco and Switzerland till
his retirement in 2008.
From the age of fifteen he’s a moviegoer. In the British Film Institute in London he discovers
cinema’s masterpieces. He buys his first movie camera in Africa in 1965 and five years later
starts to win national and international prizes in film and photography. Since twenty years
he takes part in Juries and since two years he’s responsible of the juries in swiss.movie’s
Festival.

Er ist in Saint-Imier, Schweizer Jura, in 1943 geboren. Er widmet seine Kindheit und
Adoleszenz den Sportarten. Später absolviert er eine Technische Fachschule für
Uhrmacherei mit Diplomabschluss. Zuerst arbeitet er in der Schweiz, dann in London,
Sambia und den Vereinigten Staaten. Er studiert Wirtschaft und Psychologie an der Sacred
Heart University in Connecticut und Business in Miami und Harrisburg und erhält einen
Master in Business Administration (MBA) von der Pennsylvania State University. Er kehrt
zurück nach Europa und arbeitet in Frankreich, Monaco und der Schweiz bis zu seinem
Ruhestand 2008.
Vom fünfzehnten Jahr an ist er ein Kinobesucher. Im Britischen Filminstitut in London
entdeckt er die Meisterwerke des Kinos. Er kauft seine erste Filmkamera in Afrika 1965 und
fängt fünf Jahre später an, nationale und internationale Preise in Film und Fotografie zu
gewinnen. Seit zwanzig Jahren nimmt er an Jurys teil und seit zwei Jahren ist er für die
Jurys in Festivals von swiss.movie verantwortlich.
