Smart Card
DESCRIPTION
The ATS Configuration Card is a proximity card using smart
card technology. The Smart Card Reader may be connected to
the RS485 BUS or magnetic stripe interfaces with little or no
configuration.
SETTING THE READER ADDRESS
The reader is supplied with the default address of RAS 16. To
change the address, the following method should be used:
a) Connect the reader as per the Installation Guide to the
ATS BUS with at least one LCD RAS connected and
polled. Two beeps will be sounded when power is
connected. Badge the reader configuration card
(ATS1481) until the reader beeps once. Wait a few
seconds and the reader will commence beeping its
current address, three times.
Long beep:
DIP switch setting = 1
Short beep:
DIP switch setting = 0
DIP switch 1 beeps first.
RAS 16 is four long beeps.
Before the address beeps finish, badge the configuration card
once again. The reader address will increment to address 1:

Continue badging the configuration card till the correct RAS
address is reached. With ATS1190/92 FW version 7 or above
the address will continue to increment one address for each
badge until address 15 is reached. The next badge will return
the reader address to RAS 16.
With ATS1190/92 FW version 6 or below the address will
decrement one address for each badge starting with address
15 until address 1 is reached. The next badge will return the
reader address to RAS 16.
