Hiking in Ardèche plein Cœur in a few figures is 3,000 km of trails including 200 km of hiking trails
(Grande randonnée), 400 km of country hiking trails (GR de pays) and more than 2400 km of footpaths.
The hiking trails ‘GR’ are marked trails of white and red horizontal lines connecting many French regions
altogether. The ‘GR’ in Ardèche plein Cœur allow you to cross the whole county. A few ‘GR’ are detailed
in hiking guides on sale in bookshops or tourist offices.

From the Valley of Talaron up highlights of this hike,
you will see the rich landscape of Boutières. Ability
to track the short option (3:30 walk / 310m ascent).
Extracted from the guidebook Hiking with the
21 hikes in the country of Lamastre you will discover
the ruins of Peychelard, to see the castle of Urbilhac,
crossing beautiful chestnut and return by the district
Macheville.
A beautiful hike which combines nature, history
and beautiful landscapes to 360 °. This route joins
the ruined castle of Pierre-gourd (Petra gorda:
Watchtower stone) dating from the eleventh century,
and common Gilhac Bruzac.

"Serre de la roue" point of view
This hike is accessible on foot or by bike, leads
hikers to the summit of Serre Wheel, culmination
Vernoux Plateau (altitude 949 m), where the view
extends over the Alps, the mountains of Ardèche
Mountains and Vivarais.

The tour comes in the woods of the castle of Chèze
and returns to the old town formerly surrounded
by ramparts and closed by three doors. You can
end with a visit to the old town and go in search of
architectural motifs.
Discover Lake Saint-Martial, the fortified house
of Le Chambon, Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc and farm
Bourlatier, witness traditional architecture with its
slated roof. Between forest and plateaus you will
admire the views.

from above and the hilltop village of Nozières and
beautiful views of the Alps and the Cevennes. A halt

m, 1343 m peak. At the top of the Champ de Mars,
