I n d e b r i t a n n i q u e e t B i r m a n i e . — Le gra­
phique de la page 535, m o n tra n t l’évolution hebdo­
m adaire des décès causés p a r le choléra au 18 Sep­
te m b e r 1937, fa it ressortir la situ atio n favorable
au cours des trois prem iers trim estres de cette
année p a r ra p p o rt à la période correspondante des
trois années précédentes.
Le graphique des variations de la m orbidité
dans ies diverses provinces e t dans l ’ensemble de
l’Inde p a r périodes de 4 semaines (au 11 septem bre
1937) m ontre que le m axim um saisonnier a été
a tte in t dans l’ensemble de l’Inde et au Bengale
en tre le 28 m ars et le 24 avril.
Des 17.379 cas enregistrés entre le 15 août et
le 11 septem bre, 5.014 se sont produits dans la
Présidence de B om bay (correspondant à un ta u x
de 298 p o u r 100.000 h a b ita n ts), 3.672 dans l’E ta t
d ’H aïderabad (331 pour 100.000), 3.328 dans la
Présidence de M adras (92,6 pour 100.000). D u 17
au 23 octobre, l ’extension du choléra a été signalée
dans 4 districts du B ihar, dans 3 districts des
Provinces Centrales, dans 2 de la Présidence de
M adras et dans un d istric t respectivem ent du
Bengale, de l’O rissa et de l’Assam.

page 535, giving th e weekly figures of deaths
from cholera up to Septem ber 18th, 1937, shows
clearly th e favourable situ atio n during th e first
th re e q uarters of th is year as com pared w ith th e
corresponding period of th e previous th ree years.
T he graph of th e fluctuations of m orbidity in
th e different provinces and in th e whole of India,
by four-w eek periods (to Septem ber 11th, 1937),
shows t h a t th e seasonal m axim um w as reached
for th e whole of In d ia and for Bengal betw een
M arch 28th and A pril 24th.
Of th e 17,379 cases recorded from A ugust 15th

k in ; 32 cas avec 28 décès o n t été enregistrés en
A nnam , où 1 cas s’éta it p ro d n it la semaine précé­

à K aolack, localité située à 60 kilom ètres a u sud

D ’après u n e inform ation en d a te du 31 octobre,
1 cas m ortel indigène a été enregistré à K hom bole,
à 30 kilom ètres à l ’est de Thiès (voir ta b le a u à la
page 487).
On O ctober 27th, 1 new E uropean case w as no­
tified a t Thiès a n d 1 suspected d e a th (a native)
a t K aolack, 40 miles south of D iourbel (see m ap
on page 479). On N ovem ber 1st, a n o th e r snspeeted
case (Moroccan) w as notified a t K aolack.

été signalée au cours des dernières années. L aw ra se
tro u v e à 60 kilom ètres au n ord-est de G aoua
(Côte d’ivoire), où des cas suspects o n t été signalésa u cours du mois de septem bre (voir page 479).

fièvre ja u n e enregistré dans c e tte localité s’é ta it
p ro d u it en octobre 1936 (voir c a rte à la page 479).
