INSTRUCTIONS FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
Any person who is a direct descendent of a King's Daughter or a Soldier in the Carignan Regiment may
become a full member of La Société des Filles du roi et soldats du Carignan, Inc. by submitting this
completed application along with proper documentation and the payment of US$20.00 application fee and
US$15.00 first year's dues (total cost of US$35.00). If it is found that the application is incomplete the
applicant will be given an Associate membership until such time as the original application can be amended.
1. Print (black ink) or type all information on the application.
2. Include your name and address along with the name of your ancestress or ancestor on the back of all
material included with this application.
3. Include photocopies of all primary and secondary evidence. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL
DOCUMENTATION. Sequentially number each of your documents. List the number and name of
EACH document under the “SOURCE” area for each individual Generation on the application form, i.e.
Generation I. #1 Birth record for (name of individual); #2 Marriage record for (name of the couple),
Death record for (name of individual); … Generation IX. #18 Birth record for (name of individual), etc.
Continue numbering and listing the documents under the appropriate generation, in the Source area,
for each and all generations listed in the application.
Before printing a Drouin or actual church record for your application source documentation, please
zoom in on the area pertaining to your ancestors and then print it (so it will be legible). Please also
highlight the names of your ancestors on the printed copy of this record with a yellow or pink marker, so
we can easily identify them. This step can be especially helpful when the recorded quality of the record
is poor.
4. Give volume and page number for book references and include a photocopy of the title page along with
the pertinent pages. Published or manuscript material authored by the applicant, his or her family or
lineage's prepared by another person or association will not of themselves be accepted as proof.
5. Information for additional ancestral lines may be included on blank pages, or photocopies of this
application, showing the tie-in to the lines on the basic application.
THIS APPLICATION AND THE ACCOMPANYING PROVING DOCUMENTS
WILL BE ADJUDGED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Primary evidence from vital statistics, courthouse or other government records, church and school
records, etc., is usually considered to be beyond doubt, and is excellent proof.
2. Secondary evidence, such as census records, newspaper clippings, old letters, bible or other family
records, contemporary to the facts, are considered as authentic.
3. Circumstantial evidence or hearsay is not considered as proof, unless backed up by primary or
secondary evidence.
4. Oral, written, or published family traditions are very often inaccurate, and will not be accepted as proof;
nor will lineage's prepared for you by another person or an association, unless accompanied by
supporting documentation and references for sources.
5. All proof documents must by themselves or in combination with other documents actually state the fact
to be proved.

I wish to apply for full membership in La société des filles du roi et soldats du Carignan, Inc. I understand there is a US$15.00 annual membership fee and US$20.00 one-time application and verification
fee (total cost of US$35.00). Proof of descendance from a King's Daughter and/or a Soldier in the
Carignan Regiment is required. During the process of verification members are admitted as associate
members.
