ACCESS TO BRUSSELS

Arriving by plane to Brussels Zaventem (National) or Charleroi Airports
As a European and international capital, Brussels is easy to get to by plane. The main airport is around 20km
from the city centre. The rapid expansion of low-cost airlines has also led to the development of a second
airport in Charleroi, about 50km from Brussels.
Brussels Airport is located in Zaventem, on the northern outskirts of Brussels. There is a direct train service
into Brussels Central station, which takes no more than 20 minutes at the most, from there you can take the
metro to the metro stop 3Schuman”.
Brussels can also be reached by taxi or by bus: STIB lines 12 and 21, stopping at “Schuman” at 1 minute from
the NECSTouR officee.
More than 140 airlines operate out of Brussels.

Brussels South Charleroi Airport
There is a second airport in Charleroi. A coach shuttle covers the 46 km to Brussels (departure from Brussels
Midi station) more than 20 times a day. Brussels South Charleroi Airport now offers flights to over 20
destinations, most of them in the European Union.

 Arriving by train:
Brussels is very well served by the railway network, at both domestic and international level. Whether you’re
coming from London, Paris, Amsterdam or elsewhere in Belgium, all rail lines lead to Brussels.
The four main stations are connected to all major destinations in Belgium, as well as the country’s airports and
the major European cities:
Brussels Nord station, which is primarily oriented to commuters, is close to the business district and
public services
Brussels Central Station: not far from Grand-Place, is the ideal option for visits to the city center
Brussels Midi station: where the international rail services Thalys, Eurostar and TGV stop
Brussels Schuman is located opposite the EU Commission’s home Berlaymont in the heart of the
European district and at 1 minute from the NECSTouR office
