ISSUE 2015-03-24 Site description Abstract Observing strategy References This dataset contains the F20's "core" measurements, ie. the measurements of the instruments operated by SAFIRE. Observations from instruments operated by specific laboratories (for example SPIRIT) or from instruments producing high-volume of data (UHSAS) are stored in separate and distinct datasets. Flights performed for the GLAM campaign consist on an east-west transect over the Mediterranean Sea between France and Cyprus to highlight the gradient of chemical species (O3, CO, CH4, CO2, H2O) . The flight Toulouse-Larnaca (via Menorca, Lampedusa, and Heraklion) took place at 5000 m altitude and the flight back at 9000 m. A specific flight between Larnaca and Paphos (west of Cyprus) sampled the lowermost, middle and upper troposphere. The GLAM campaign also performed vertical profiles between about 0.3 and 11 km altitude near the 4 landing sites: Minorca, Lampedusa, Heraklion and Larnaca, The file desc_GLAM_CORE.pdf, which is in the same directory as the data files, describes all the parameters in the present dataset : instruments and computation applied. ChArMEx-France was principally funded by INSU, ADEME, ANR, CNES, CTC (Corsica region), EU/FEDER, Météo-France, and CEA. The aircrafts were operated by SAFIRE (http://www.safire.fr), which is a joint facility of CNRS, Météo-France and CNES dedicated to flying research aircraft, and the data processing was performed by the TRAMM team of CNRM-GAME (joint Météo-France and CNRS research center).» Data policy ChArMEx data and publication policy Database ChArMEx database, France Original data format(s) NASA AMES
