Devenir un apprenti ou une apprentie
Becoming An Apprentice
Une apprentie ou un apprenti est une personne qui
apprend un métier spécialisé en cours d'emploi, sous
la supervision de travailleurs chevronnés. Les
apprenties et apprentis font également des études en
classe dans le cadre de leur formation.
Les apprenties et apprentis sont des employés; vous
devez donc trouver un employeur qui est prêt à vous
recruter et à vous former. Emploi Ontario peut vous
aider à chercher un emploi, et il existe aussi des outils
en ligne, comme le Guichet emplois Ontario. Les
apprentis doivent être membres de l'Ordre des
métiers de l'Ontario.
Devenir apprenti constitue un premier pas important
vers l'apprentissage de nouvelles compétences et le
début d'une carrière enrichissante. Les emplois dans
les métiers spécialisés sont intéressants, stimulants et
très rémunérateurs. Mieux encore, vous pouvez
gagner de l'argent tout en apprenant.
Vous pouvez choisir parmi des centaines de métiers.
Pour certains métiers, vous devez passer un examen à
la fin de votre formation. Si vous suivez une formation
dans un métier « Sceau rouge » vous pourrez travailler
dans d'autres provinces et territoires.

acquis les connaissances et les compétences d'un
métier et obtenu le certificat de qualification auprès
d'une autorité provinciale ou territoriale.

An apprentice is someone who learns a skilled trade
on the job, under the direction of more experienced
workers. Apprentices also complete classroom
instruction as a part of their training.
Apprentices are workers, so you will need to find an
employer who will train you. Employment Ontario can
help you with your job search and there are online
tools including the Ontario Job Bank. Apprentices
must be members of the Ontario College of Trades.
Becoming an apprentice can be an important first
step to learning new skills and building a rewarding
career. Jobs in the skilled trades pay well, and are
interesting and challenging. Plus, you earn while you
learn.
There are hundreds of trades to choose from. Some
require you to take an exam once your training is
complete. Training in what are known as Red Seal
Trades allows you to work in other provinces and
territories.
Apprentices become skilled workers once they have
acquired the knowledge and skills in a trade or
occupation and are certified by a provincial or
territorial authority.
