Saft signs a global Memorandum of Understanding with VNIIEM Corporation JSC
for Russian scientific, technological and commercial satellite batteries
during Paris Air Show
Paris, June 27, 2013 - Saft the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of advanced batteries
for industry announces that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with «VNIIEM
Corporation» JSC, one of the leading companies in the Russian Federation for the marketing,
design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of satellite and ground systems, subsystems
and equipment and with JSC «FEA «Radioexport» one of the leading companies in complex
supply of high reliability components for space industry and in concomitant support for designers.
The agreement covers joint development, qualification and manufacturing of power supply systems
for space applications consisting of lithium-ion batteries and electronic management and control
units, for which the companies’ complementary capabilities provide a competitive advantage on
this market.

Saft’s General Manager Space and Defence Division. ‘It represents Saft’s increasing involvement
in Russia and the recognition of our product and service excellence by our partners.’
This cooperation agreement between Saft, JCS VNIIEM and Radioexport covers around 20
Russian LEO scientific, technological and commercial satellites between 2013 and 2019.
