permet au pilote de rallye de faire ses premières armes dans la catégorie réservée aux voitures
répondant à la réglementation Groupe N.

Beaucoup moins coûteuse à l’achat et en exploitation que ses rivales dotées d’une transmission intégrale et d’un moteur suralimenté, la toute nouvelle version de la Clio 2 L 16 V
Groupe N propose, outre le “relookage“ de la phase 2, un “package“ performant et
économique répondant à la réglementation FIA. Le moteur 2 litres, 4 cylindres en ligne,
accouplé à une boîte mécanique à cinq rapports, développe 180 ch. à 6800 tr/mn. Les
suspensions avant de type MacPherson et arrière à bras tirés, peuvent être équipées en
option d’amortisseurs Öhlins. Equipé de disques ventilés de 280 mm de diamètre à l’avant
et de disques pleins de 238 mm à l’arrière, le circuit de freinage est doté d’un limiteur,
réglable depuis l’habitacle par le pilote. Cette nouvelle petite “bombe“ des rallyes n’a
finalement rien à envier aux grandes… Pour un budget extrêmement raisonnable, c’est
la réponse de Renault Sport aux jeunes prétendants à la victoire dans la catégorie Groupe N.
The all-new Group N Clio 2L 16V is cheaper to buy and maintain than cars fitted with
all-wheel drive and turbocharged engines. Apart from its updated phase 2 bodywork, it
benefits from a high-performance, cost-effective package that complies with FIA
Group N regulations. Mated to a five-speed manual, mechanical gearbox, its two-litre,
four-cylinder engine develops 180 bhp at 6300 rpm. The suspension – MacPherson-type
struts at the front, trailing arms at the rear – can be fitted with Öhlins dampers as
an option. The driver has a brake balance adjuster within the cockpit and receives
stopping power from 280 mm ventilated discs at the front and 238 mm solid discs at the
rear. This tiny rally dynamo has everything you might expect to find on much bigger cars…
It is Renault Sport’s way of giving young drivers a chance to challenge for Group N honours
at a fair price.
