Deloitte Luxembourg appoints Tom Pfeiffer as new CSR leader
Luxembourg, 29 November — Shortly before the start of the year-end charity season,
Deloitte Luxembourg has announced its new Corporate Social Responsibility Leader, Tom
Pfeiffer. The Luxembourger, who joined the firm as audit partner in 2012, follows in the
footsteps of Elizabeth Layer.
“I am happy to assume my new role as CSR leader. In a fast-paced and rapidly changing world,
it is as important as ever to care about each other, our colleagues, society and our planet,”
explains Tom Pfeiffer. “At Deloitte, corporate social responsibility refers to our desire and a
conscious choice of integrating more than just financial matters into our business practice.
Companies have a strong social responsibility, be it in terms of sustainable mobility solutions or
ensuring a sustainable work place. I think it is important that we acknowledge this role and that
we recognize the impact we can have also in our day-to-day work and share it with our clients.”
Tom Pfeiffer will work closely with Deloitte Luxembourg’s CSR team under the guidance of
Frédéric Sabban. Together, they will streamline existing initiatives such as the Impact Days or
the participation in charity events to establish a strong CSR mindset.
True to tradition, Deloitte will open the festive season on 5 December with the Klenge Maart
to support local charity organizations. During the whole day, employees can partake in sports
challenges and other activities collecting money for a good cause. For three years now, the
Operation Shoebox has been at the heart of this charity day. The initiative helps migrants,
refugees and less fortunate people in Luxembourg by providing them with essential hygiene
items that employees can pack and distribute in December and January.
“I am looking forward to the upcoming Klenge Maart. In addition to supporting local charity
organizations, it inspires a very unifying spirit. You really notice that people wish to help and
that they enjoy doing so as a team”, resumes Tom Pfeiffer. In 2015, more than 1250 shoeboxes
were prepared and distributed.

Deloitte Luxembourg nomme Tom Pfeiffer nouveau leader RSE
Luxembourg, le 29 novembre — Peu avant le début de la saison consacrée aux œuvres
de bienfaisance de fin d’année, Deloitte Luxembourg annonce la nomination de son nouveau
Corporate Social Responsibility leader, Tom Pfeiffer. Le Luxembourgeois, qui a intégré la
société en 2012 en tant que Partner Audit, prend ainsi la succession d’Elizabeth Layer.
« Je me réjouis de ce nouveau poste de leader RSE. Dans un monde en constante évolution, il
est plus important que jamais de penser aux autres, aux collègues, à la société et à la planète »,
explique Tom Pfeiffer. « Par ses activités RSE, Deloitte désigne son désir d’intégrer dans sa
pratique professionnelle des thématiques qui vont au-delà des questions financières. La
responsabilité sociale des entreprises est considérable, qu’il s’agisse des solutions de mobilité ou
de la durabilité du lieu de travail. Je pense qu’il est important que nous assumions ce rôle et que
nous reconnaissions également l’impact que nous pouvons avoir sur nos activités quotidiennes et
d’en faire bénéficier nos clients. »
Tom Pfeiffer travaillera en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe RSE de Deloitte Luxembourg, sous
la direction de Frédéric Sabban. Ensemble, ils rationaliseront les initiatives existantes telles que
les Impact Days ou la participation à des événements caritatifs afin de garder un esprit RSE
solide.
Fidèle à sa tradition, Deloitte ouvrira la saison des fêtes le 5 décembre avec le Klenge Maart pour
soutenir des œuvres caritatives locales. Au cours de cette journée, les salariés pourront
participer à des compétitions sportives ainsi qu’à d’autres activités visant à récolter des fonds
pour une bonne cause. L’opération « Shoebox » est au cœur de cette journée pour la troisième
année consécutive. Dans le cadre de cette initiative, organisée en décembre et en janvier, les
salariés emballent et distribuent des kits d’hygiène destinés aux migrants, aux réfugiés et aux
plus démunis.
« Je me réjouis d’avance de l’organisation du Klenge Maart de cette année. En plus de soutenir les
œuvres de bienfaisance locales, cette initiative est extrêmement fédératrice. Elle permet de montrer
que le désir d’aider ses prochains est réel et qu’il est agréable de le faire en équipe », précise Tom
Pfeiffer. En 2015, plus de 1250 « Shoeboxes » avaient ainsi été préparées et distribuées.

Deloitte Luxemburg ernennt Tom Pfeiffer zum neuen CSR-Leader
Luxemburg, 29. November — Kurz vor Beginn der festlichen Jahreszeit hat Deloitte
Luxemburg Tom Pfeiffer als seinen neuen Corporate Social Responsibility-Leader bekannt
gegeben. Der Luxemburger, der 2012 als Audit-Partner dem Unternehmen beitrat, tritt in die
Fußstapfen von Elizabeth Layer.
„Ich freue mich auf meine neue Aufgabe als CSR-Leader. In der schnelllebigen und sich ständig
verändernden Welt von heute ist es wichtiger denn je, aufeinander zu Acht zu geben – auf
Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die Gesellschaft und unsere Umwelt“, erläutert Tom Pfeiffer.
„Bei Deloitte steht Corporate Social Responsibility für unser Anliegen und unsere bewusste
Entscheidung, mehr als nur finanzielle Themen in unsere Geschäftspraxis zu integrieren.
Unternehmen haben eine große soziale Verantwortung, sei es bezüglich nachhaltiger
Mobilitätslösungen oder im Hinblick auf die Gewährleistung nachhaltig gestalteter Arbeitsplätze.
Ich denke, es ist wichtig, dass wir uns dieser Aufgabe annehmen und erkennen, welchen Einfluss
wir auch bei unserer täglichen Arbeit haben können. Das möchten wir auch unseren Kunden mit
auf den Weg geben.“
Tom Pfeiffer wird eng mit dem von Frédéric Sabban geführten CSR-Team von Deloitte
Luxemburg zusammenarbeiten. Gemeinsam werden sie die bestehenden Initiativen noch
effektiver gestalten, um eine konsequente Denkweise im Sinne der CSR-Grundsätze zu
etablieren. Zu den aktuellen Initiativen gehören unter anderem die Impact Days oder die
Teilnahme an Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltungen.
Traditionell wird Deloitte am 5. Dezember die besinnliche Jahreszeit mit dem internen
Wohltätigkeitsmarkt Klenge Maart einleiten, um lokale Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen zu
unterstützen. Den ganzen Tag über können Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter an sportlichen
Wettbewerben und anderen Aktivitäten teilnehmen, um Geld für einen guten Zweck zu sammeln.
Seit mittlerweile drei Jahren steht die „Operation Shoebox“ im Mittelpunkt dieses
Wohltätigkeitstags. Die Aktion hilft Migranten, Flüchtlingen und benachteiligten Menschen in
Luxemburg, indem sie mit Hygieneartikeln versorgt werden, die die Mitarbeiterinnen und
Mitarbeiter im Dezember und Januar zusammenstellen und verteilen.
„Ich freue mich auf den bevorstehenden Klenge Maart. Über die Unterstützung lokaler
Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen hinaus schafft dieser Tag ein besonders starkes Gefühl des
Zusammenhalts. Man kann richtig spüren, dass Menschen anderen helfen möchten und es ihnen
Freude bereitet, dies im Team zu tun“, so Tom Pfeiffer weiter. 2015 wurden mehr als 1.250
Schuhkartons gepackt und verteilt.
