nécessite souvent une manipulation du corps de l'aiguille par

au niveau de ces points la fleur de prunier électrique. Une
série consiste en 15 séances. Entre les séances les patients
se font eux-même des massages au niveau du point
zhengguang. Les résultats sont meilleurs pour les myopies
légères. 21 % de guérison, 56,1 % de très bons résultats, 21,9
% de bons résultats, 1 % d'échec.

Dans la myopie du sujet jeune (moins de 20 ans) l'acupuncture
semble être le moyen actuel le plus efficace à en juger par les
plus de 83 % de très bons résultats obtenus sur 1144 yeux
myopes traités par l'aiguille Fleur de Prunier. Cependant
l'auteur tout en démontrant le rôle fondamental de
l'acupuncture insiste sur les règles d'hygiene visuelle dont il
fournit la liste des "interdits".

Des résultats satisfaisants ont été obtenus dans 82 cas
d'alopécie. Une électrode d'un stimulateur est fixée à la fleur
de prunier, l'autre électrode est tenue à la main par le patient.
L'intensité du courant doit pouvoir être supportée par le
patient, avec une fréquence de 70-90 c/mn. La frappe
intéresse d'abord la zone d'alopécie et le point 20VB. Puis les
deux cotés de la colonne vertébrale, du cou au coccyx jusqu'à
ce que la peau devienne rouge, ou encore avec un faible
saignement. 10 à 15 minutes tous les jours. Une série
comporte 7 séances.

Depuis 1964, la Fleur de Prunier a été utilisée dans le
traitement de la myopie de l'adolescent et de l'enfant. Des
résultats satisfaisants on été obtenus. Depuis 1971, la Fleur
de Prunier électrique a été utilisée avec de meilleurs résultats
cliniques. Le point Zhenguang s'est révélé très efficace. 1158
cas, 2284 yeux ont été traités, 494 (21,6 %) guérisons, 1307
(57,2 %) améliorations nettes, 461 (20,2 %) améliorations, 22
(1 %) échecs. La Fleur de Prunier électrique donne de
meilleurs résultats que la Fleur de Prunier simple (P < 0,001).
Une séance par jour, une séance d'automassage tous les
jours.

Le traitement fonction des formes cliniques de la MTC permet
de faire passer le taux d'efficacité de 82 % à 100 % et utilise
les points 10TR, 21VB, 14TR. Aiguille courbe pour la
dispersion, aiguille chaude pour les syndromes froids. Fleur de
prunier sur les régions cervicales, thoraciques, sur les

(émotion) qui empèche la libre circulation de l'énergie
entrainant une stagnation de Qi et de sang au niveau du cou.
Sur le plan clinique, des tensions et des sensibilités peuvent

Traitement de 40 cas d'exophtalmie rebelles aux
thérapeutiques habituelles. 1) L'exophtalmie est considérée
comme une stagnation du sang qui nécessite le drainage des
méridiens par les points 10V supérieurs (0,5 cm au dessus du
10V, la puncture est oblique à 75° vers la pointe du nez à une
profondeur de 1 à 1,3 cm) et le 20VB. Une stimulation
modérée par enfoncements- retrait et rotation est utilisé pour
induire le Deqi. La manipulation est poursuivie après
irradiation à l'orbite. 2) La rétraction de la paupière est traitée

(treated group) and plum-blossom needling alone (controlled
group). The method is : the plumb-blossom needle is used to
tap spirally from the perimeter to the centre of the alopecia
area until the skin is flushed and then the tapping starts from
the haired area toward the middle of the alopecic area
centripetally and then moves down to the median line of the
lumbar region and both sides of the spine to bring on the flush
of skin. The treatment is once daily and 20 sessions constitute
one course. In the treated group, among 102 cases, 80 were
cured, 9 were markedly effective, 11 were improved and 2
failed; while in the controlled group, among 84 cases, 31 were
cured, 15 were markedly effective, 29 were improved and 9

From November 1990 to February 1992, 31 patients (25
female and 6 male, the age range was 16-52 years) affected
by simple obesity were treated combining the Plum-blossom
Needle technique with auriculotherapy. Most female patients
(18 cases) suffered a concomitant irregular mestruation; 5
women were hypertensive, with tachycardia and varicose
veins; in 2 cases the excessive body weight occurred after
surgical removal of a thyroid nodule. Out of the 6 male
patients, 2 experienced an abnormal increase of body weight
after stop smoking; 3 cases suffered from hypertension; in 1
case obesity was present from his child hood. The treatment
carried out with Plum-blossom Needle therapy contemplated a
common procedure for all cases, plus stimulating specific body
areas and acupoints according to the TCM differentiation of
syndromes. The auricular points mainly selected as the basic
prescription were: Spleen, Stomach, Endocrine and Hunger;
other auricular points were added on the basis of clinical
symptoms. The ahieved results were the following: - clinically
cured (body weight reduced within normal range, symptoms
and signs disappeared): 8 cases. - markedly effective (body
weight decreased by 5Kg, symptoms and signs markedly
improved): 6 cases. - effective (body weight decrease by more
than 2Kg, symptoms and signs improved): 10 cases.

The author took the tender spots at the focus of the pain as
primary points and other routine points in the local area as
combined points. At each point, there would be the needling
with a few needles. i.e. one needle inserted inside the point,
and 1 needle or 2 or 4 needles were thrusted at the sides. The
distance between the needles was 0.1 or 0.2 cun. The number
of needle was determined according to the condition of the
disease. 117 cases of painful joints ranging fro 3 to 360
months were treated with this method. 31 cases had their
symptoms disappeared (265 %), 39 had marked effectiveness
(33.3 %), 44 had improvement (37.6 %), and 3 had no change
(2.6 %). Comparing with the conventional acupuncture with
only one needle (altogether 72 cases were treated), the effect
of the multiple needling was distinguishingly superior to that of
single needle (X=21.41, P<0.001).

The authors report the treatment, carried out in the period
November 1991-April 1992, of 22 cases (17 female, 5 male),
ranging in age between 52 and 64, affected by mono-bilateral
gonarthrosis, differentiated in three syndromes according to
TCM diagnosis: a - Cold-wind syndrome (9 cases); b - Colddampness syndrome (10 cases); c - Qi and blood stagnation
syndrome (3 cases). The combination of the techniques of
massage on acupoints (circular pressure with the tumb,
vibration) with the Plum Blossom needle therapy and
moxibustion with moxa-stick, proved especially useful in the
treatment of this disease, because it has determined in most
treated cases, the disappearance or the clear reduction of pain
and the recovery of the articular mobility. In particular, the
resolution of the "positive masses" detectable on palpation in
the area of affected joints by means of Plum Blossom needle
therapy, was determined for the best therapeutic
achievements. The results were as follows: - 10 cases
markedly improved; - 8 cases improved; - 4 cases with a poor
result.

In this study, tapping by plum-blossom needle along meridians
combined with ticking by sharp crochet hook was used for
treatment of rhomboid muscle injury in 256 patients. Of the
256 cases, 236 cases were cured, accounting for 92.8 %, 14
cases, markedly effective accounting for 5.46%, the rest 6
cases effective, accounting for 2.34%. The total effective rate
was 100%. Compared with the control group, the cure rate in
the first treatment course in the treatment group were higher
(P<0.01). It is concluded that plum-blossom acupuncture may
improve micro- circulation in the diseased areas, whereas
crochet hook ticking may eliminate adhesiveness between
muscles and/or fasciae. Consequently, this combined therapy
has the role of dredging meridian and relieving path.

[The Application of Plum Blossom Needles in Combination
with Manipulated Bleeding and Cupping Methods in the
Treatment of bi-Syndromes (Occlusiones)]. This article
examines the application of plum blossom needles in the
treatment of painful obstruction syndromes of the joints (bisyndrome, occlusiones). The treatment presented in the article
combines this method with manipulated bleeding and cupping
treatment to produce a quick-acting and effective therapy of bisyndromes (occlusiones) with calor and calor humidus
symptoms, and the efficacy is documented with the
illustrations of selected cases. In addition, the procedure
mentioned is compared to a similar Western method, the
Baunscheidt process, used in constitutional medicine. The
results of the treatment show that this plum blossom needle
therapy represents a very effective method of treatment of
painful joints displaying humor and calor symptoms. The
results also imply a connection, on the one hand between the
heftiness of calor symptoms and the extent of bleeding, and

urine and content of plasma middle molecular substances
before and after treatment of granule - moxibustion were
observed in the patient of diarrhea of spleen deficiency.
Results showed that after treatment, clinical symptoms and the
excretion rate of D-xylose in urine and the content of plasma
middle molecular substances had significant improvement,
which was better than that in the control group of Chinese
drug, and proves unique therapeutic effect of granule
moxibustion for diarrhea of spleen

body acupuncture combined with plum needle treating
neurodermatitis has un obvious effects, simple without any

and medicinal herb spray prepared with Chinese herbs for the
treatment of alopecia. Methods A treatment group of 110
alopecia cases was treated with plumblossom needle plus
external application of medicinal herb spray and a control
group of 108 cases was randomly established and treated with
plum-blossom needle plus external application of astragalus
injection. Results and conclusion The total effective rate and
the cure rate were 99.1% and 83.6% , respectively, in the
treatment group and 87.0% and 60.2% , respectively, in the

intervertebral disc. Methods: 247 cases of prolapse of lumbar
intervertebral disc were treated first with manual treatment and
then with plum-blossom magnetic needle therapy and effectincreasing pad therapy at specified points and reactive points.
Results: After treatment for 2 therapeutic courses, 153 cases
were cured accounting for 61.94% , 71 cases were markedly
effective accounting for 28. 75% , 22 cases were improved
accounting for 8.91% and the rest one failed, accounting for
0.45 % . Conclusion: The comprehensive plumblossom
magnetic needle therapy has a better therapeutic effect on
prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.

Objective To search for a method for increasing therapeutic
effect on vitiligo. Methods One hundred and sixteen cases
were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control
group, 58 cases in each group. The treatment group were
treated with electro-plum-blossom needle therapy plus catgut
implantation at local acupoints under TDP radiation, and the
control group with external application of sicorten. Their shortterm and long-term therapeutic effects were observed. Results
The short-term total effective rate was 98. 3% in the treatment
group and 74. 1% in the control group with a significant
difference between the two groups (P<O. 0) Conclusion
Electro- plum-blossom needle therapy plus catgut implantation
at acupoints has a better therapeutic effect on vitiligo with
