We are looking for individuals to contribute in building the future of the security
Major Account Sales Representative
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the immediate supervision of the Commercial Sales Manager the incumbent of this
position promotes the company’s security products to potential and existing customers. As a
security consultant, (s) he provides support and assistance to the sales manager in
development of a sales tactical plan for the targeted markets. The primary revenue objective is
One Time revenue and Margin within the commercial, institutional and industrial vertical
markets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:











Grows market share by selling ADT security products and services to new commercial,
industrial, institutional and government customers.
Sets a tactical sales plan including a forecast to meet specific vertical targets by
identifying key activities, priorities and risks for positioning and promoting ADT solutions.
Responsibilities include building a contact list, identifying and contacting prospects,
conducting discussions with potential new and existing clients to uncover needs,
reviewing capabilities, conducting presentations or demonstrations and building the
pipeline on a consistent basis.
Independently establish call plans and customer follow-up strategies and tactics, and
consistently apply time and territory management techniques.
Supports the retention of existing business at re-tender times and pursue leads to
expand existing business with a focus on the margin that fits into our overall strategic
plan.
Identify prospects utilizing creative lead-generating methods and maintaining productive
working relationships with existing customers.
Manages effectively the RFP sales process through prospect development / tender
receipt, proposal, presentation and closing negotiations.
Develops ADT as a preferred service provider, a firm that helps write the tender proposal
and who is established as the chosen provider.
Targets and develops a network of influential contacts and actively builds prospect client
relationships.
Gives effective demonstrations employing superior technical skills and product
knowledge.
Sells additional services to existing accounts, add-ons, amends, and upgrades existing
customer systems to meet the customers' expectations.





Responsible for resale opportunities within an assigned territory.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of our complete line of services and addresses
customers' issues and needs through in-house training and technical and product
research.
Process work order and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved and
standardized procedures in a timely manner.
Conduct post installation follow-up by contacting customer, ensuring commitments were
met and affirming customer satisfaction once the customer has been in service.
Adhere to current ADTpolicies, procedures, products, programs and services.
REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:






Related diploma/degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Five (5) plus years of demonstrated success working in a business development or sales role
with successful track record.
Industry or adjacent industry experiences a definite asset.
Has a comprehensive knowledge of the tender business.
Knowledge of the Canadian fire code and National building code an asset.
Relationships within the commercial, institutional and industrial vertical markets a definite asset.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:






Ability to comprehend and make significant contributions to development and execution of sales
strategies and tactics.
Entrepreneurial attitude, demonstrated leadership ability and ability to be a team player at all
levels.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to present to senior level executives as
well as represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
Bilingual (French & English, spoke and written), an asset.
Ability to interact with high level internal and external personnel.
Business acumen and solid understanding of commercial businesses contracting with federal
agencies/entities.

Position summary:
The incumbent prospects residential customers and sells security and home automation systems within
a protected territory.
The B2C role:








Visit customers to promote the product line
Analyze the customer's needs and present the solution that suits best these needs
Explain how a security and home automation system works and the related advantages
Prepare a weekly development plan and perform daily prospection activities
Build relationships with customers and get references
Meet sales and business growth targets for the territory
Develop networks and partnerships
Take part in company promotional events
