CO Mission: “A unique suite of
magazines that help students
and soon-to-be grads find the
work they love and build the life
they want.”

2013 Print/Online/Social Media/Mobile media kit
In the upcoming Career Options edition:
SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES (SMEs)
SMEs are an important part of Canada’s economy and make up 48 percent of the workforce.
According to Industry Canada, 98 percent of all employer businesses in Canada are small
businesses. Our Winter issue will cover topics such as:
• What exactly is an SME? How much do they contribute to Canada’s economy?
• How to get a job at an SME: Job fairs, recruitment, social media.
• Profiles of young SME workers: how they got the job and what it’s like to work there.
• S
MEs in different industries: Health care, engineering, professional services, farming
and more.
• Apply your degree: What SME jobs are available for science majors?
Plus:
• A feature on international post-secondary options.
• C
areer Turning Point: This new CO section—geared to those recently laid off, new to
Canada or looking to retrain—will help guide people going through a career transition and
show them different options available for starting a new career.
NEW! In addition to its printed distribution CO is
now emailed directly to 33,000 registered students.

What Is Career Options?
Why Advertise with Us?
• Career Options magazine is a vital resource for
• Great exposure: Promote your employment
niversity and college students aiming to join the
u
workforce. It features job opportunities from top
employers across Canada, the latest employment
trends, information on key industries and career paths,
tips from experts and recently hired grads, co-op and
internship information, advice on graduate studies
and much more!
• Career Options is published by the Canadian
ssociation of Career Educators and Employers
A
(CACEE), a national, not-for-profit organization that
brings t ogether employers and career centre staff
working in post-secondary institutions. CACEE’s most
important mission is to support students as they
transition into careers. www.cacee.com
pportunities and graduate or post-degree programs
o
to the best and brightest through Canada’s leading
campus magazine.
• Pulbished by the Canadian Association of
Career Educators and Employers (CACEE):
Career Options is the only major campus magazine
published by a national n
 ot-for-profit organization.
This means we can remain objective, with editorial
content and advertising that are never linked.
• Brand strength: Career Options has d eveloped
a strong reputation over the last 26 years with career
centre staff from across Canada, many of whom are
CACEE members.
• INVALUABLE STUDENT RESOURCE = TARGETED
Where Do We Circulate?
• To virtually every university and college from coast
to coast. We are the only campus magazine offering
advertisers full national exposure, thanks to our a
d
packages c ombining Career Options and its French
equivalent, O
 ptions Carrières.
• Our distribution strength is fully verified annually
by the Canadian Circulations Audit Board (CCAB).
Advertise with confidence in Canada’s only audited
English and French campus publications.
LEADS: Career Centres and students alike regard
Career Options magazines as an invaluable student
resource. For this reason, copies of CO are purchased
by the Career Centres out of their own budget, and
distributed free-of-charge to students. This means
advertisers can be confident that the magazines are
actively promoted and distributed to the students they
want to reach.
• No Consumer advertising: We have d eliberately
 xcluded all consumer-oriented advertising from
e
Career Options. This decision keeps students focused
on the articles and on our advertisers’ important
recruitment messages.
• Quality content: Our editorial process ensures
that the magazine’s content is both engaging
and relevant. Articles are written by both career
professionals and student journalists, for a range
of perspectives.
